AccuWeather shows up to 8 inches possible for us. Yikes! I don't even remember the last time I may have seen snow in March, and if so it could not have been very much.

:snowflake: What a mess! I'll have to cancel an appointment this afternoon but they aren't in the office until 1:00. I'm sure I won't be the only one.

DH plowed the driveway before he left this morning but it's completely covered, and our street looks like it's barely passable except for trash pickup. I don't expect county plows until late this afternoon or evening. Since schools are closed, they won't be in any hurry to clear neighborhoods.

If you've been hit by this monster snowmaker, don't go out unless you absolutely must, stay indoors, stay warm, stay safe. :snowflake:

We have at least six new inches and it is the wet-and-heavy stuff that just clumped up in the blower. Shoveling was a pain!! This better be the last snow for this year!

We got a reported 10 inches of snow in my part of Michigan today. Roads were really bad when I went to the doctor in the morning. The snow has stopped now and the sun is out. Now if we could just get rid of all the snow in our yard and driveway.

Some official Michigan snowfall totals. I guess it's a good sign when these are announced, it must mean they don't expect to be adding to them!

Check out Marquette at 170+ inches and still 21.6 inches BELOW normal. Holy smokes. I am NEVER moving to Marquette!

yikes! We aren't far from Detroit, and they had:
Detroit: 91.7″, 50.2″ above normal (2nd snowiest winter) (from your link)

The snowiest winter ever on record for Detroit area was the winter of 1880-1881 with 93.6" of snow

The NSW says the season normal for the Detroit area is 42.5" of snow.

Metro Detroit could go from 70s to snow; strong winds knock out power

Tom Greenwood/The Detroit News

It was nice while it lasted, but Sunday’s buttery skies and warmer temperatures are being replaced Monday by strong winds, rain and snow.

According to the National Weather Service, the metro area is expected to receive 1 to 2 inches of snow late Monday night, just hours after morning commuters enjoyed 72 degree temperatures.

“We’re going to see temperatures in the 40s by about 6 p.m., a 25-degree drop in just a few hours,” National Weather Service meteorologist Bryan Tilley said. “At 6 a.m., the temperature at Metro Airport was 71 degrees — that will be the high for the day.” ...

We had straight line winds here on Saturday afternoon. I haven't had power since. Trees are down everywhere, it looked like a war zone. My house is fine, but my block (small block, only 11 houses on each side of the road and close together) had 3 very old, very large trees down in the street and I couldn't get home. I had to park a couple of blocks away and walk in. My next door neighbor's car is totaled, and the guy on the other side of her lost 2 cars. They share a driveway, and one tree took out all 3 vehicles. They both also have roof damage, but nobody was hurt. One of the tree's roots also took out a gas line, so I've had no gas, no electric, no internet. My whole city is only 1 square mile, and there were trees down just all over the place. The original power restoration time estimate was 11:30 pm tomorrow, but it just got updated to 1:00 pm today so I am hopeful I will go home to heat and lights tonight! It got rather cold in the house by this morning, when temps outside were only 25 degrees. It was pretty cozy, all of us bundled into bed together, reading by flashlight and snuggled up-like camping. But eventually you have to get up and try to get yourself ready to go somewhere to shower and then work/school, and that is not much fun in the dark and cold. We are more than ready for our power to return.

Glad that you're alright! Hardest hit in Oakland County was north and west of where I am. Lake Orion Community Schools closed at noon with all students being dismissed due to widespread power outage. Winds have died down, but temps will drop throughout the day with snow in the forecast. I guess that winter hasn't had its last hurrah :snowflake:
