Missing cell phones

You are correct, which is why it's probably very, very low probability that it was a pocket call.

Just branching off here

and then it just happens to be someone that has walked the neighborhood? That lowers the probability even more doesnt it?

I can see her pink hair flowing in the wind as she rides on the handlebars of Jersey's bike through the neighborhood. :great:

:floorlaugh: I just spit out my drink, for real! hahaha!

Yes, I thought of that too. But then, having gotten a wrong number, the caller would try again it seems.

Maybe if the voicemail replies with a personal recorded message from the person you wanted to reach. But some of my acquaintances have just a machine voice saying that the person you attempted to reach is unavailable, please leave a message. I wouldn't necessarily know I called a wrong number.

The odds of that happening would be very small indeed. But if someone wanted to do a red herring call they wouldn't call a random number, they would call someone they know lives somewhere close.

The lady says she didn't know them, unless you don't believe her.

If LE was able to ping the location of the phone at the time of the call, that information right there would speak volumes.

Absolutely.

You know - this is the kind of thing the public NEEDS to know to be able to help out. It's bizarre to me that LE didn't hold a press conference with this, along with information about where the call was made.

So piecing this together, JI and DB each had a cell phone. Likely on the same account.

DB's phone breaks so the only working phone is JI's. DB gets a phone from her father the day before. She claims that they are all on the counter because she is reprogramming information into the donated phone.

When the phones are taken she claims that 2 are working and one is broken. What does she mean by broken? Did it not even power up? Is she reprogramming information from JI's phone into the new donated phone? So now she's got two phones that power up but are they both now connected to the main account that is restricted? Could she do this by taking the sim card from her broken phone and using it in the new donated phone? If she did this, did she check the new donated phone to see if it could call out? And if was simply a sim card transfer, what would she have to "reprogram"?

Someone mentioned that only one would be restricted on certain carriers. If it was JI's that was the main phone and DB's was broken, then they would not have been able to use any phone until the donated phone was "hooked up". Unless they paid the bill, the carrier would not connect her new donated phone to the account would they? Or maybe they would? Anyone know this?

So if she simply transferred a sim card from her broken phone to the donated phone, the donated phone would instantly become the second phone? Which may have had service if the restriction was only on the main phone?

MW says she doesn't know the Irwins but the only way LE would know if her number is on the contact list for the phone that "called her" would be to have the physical phone or at least the sim card wouldn't it?

If DB made the call, perhaps to a wrong number, she wouldn't stay on the line for 50 seconds. And if she was trying to reach someone, she would have called the correct number after hanging up from the wrong one. If an intruder made the call, perhaps to the correct number then MW hopefully has given more info to LE than she is willing to give to the press. If she is connected to a family member somehow, and is not involved, I would hope she has forwarded this info on to them. If she is involved then I suppose we'll get more lying.

If it was a "pocket call" that went to this person's voicemail and was disconnected after 50 seconds, then the number was either programmed into the phone or in the most bizzare set of circumstances, it randomly dialed a local number.

Anyone have any thoughts about all this?

MOO

BBM As far as I know, Nextel phones are the only Sprint phones (and Sprint is who restricts service, right?) that have SIM cards. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, I haven't had sprint in a few years.

If LE was able to ping the location of the phone at the time of the call, that information right there would speak volumes.

I'm wondering if they already have done that and that is what is causing this call to be such a big deal?

Only problem with that theory is wouldn't she had hung up the second she heard the VM of someone else? I don't know any cell phone that actually takes 50 seconds before VM picks up (more like 20-25 seconds).

My bolding

Probably.

But then again, what if the person misdialing the call was drunk at the time? My VM doesn't give my name.

DB said in her interview they showed her the "dopler pings" and they were close to the house.... ((fwiw))

and JJP this morning says she is sure LE has already triangulated it

Unless it's Lisa's address, please don't post anyone's home address here. *Not a mod, just been here awhile*

I already said I'm not sure I believe her. However, she does not have to know the Irwins at all in order for them to be able to sleuth her address and phone number.

It would be interesting to know, wouldn't it?

mlc9852, please delete your post. We cannot sleuth nor put personal info on here regarding innocent people.

Another lie from DB exposed. "No one made a call, the phones were not working." This woman lies a lot. MOO

Irregardless if this woman who got a call that night knows DB or not, the point is, a call was made from one of the non-working cell phones that were stolen.

Yes, and that's what's intriguing. I fully believe this points right at the direction of an intruder. Someone she's not thinking of, who she does know or has met, called her.

But the cell phones were restricted and couldn't make outgoing calls, right? It that is to be believed, then I think the call came from JI's phone to MW. Or they were lying about the cell phones being restricted....why??

Thank you for all the alerts.

Do NOT post personal information regarding those not named as suspects in this case.

The lady says she didn't know them, unless you don't believe her.

If she DOES know them, that's a HUGE mistake on her part going so public, coming forward on camera saying she doesn't know them. LE certainly wasn't going to "out" her, she "outed" herself, and standing there in broad daylight stating she doesn't know them if she actually does . . . that's just Russian Roulette.

I'm going to give the lady the benefit of the doubt, seeing that I see no reason to disbelieve what she's saying at this point in time.

With a kitten in one hand and a box of wine strapped to the handlebars!

Oy. Okay, I'm really going to work now. Doc, please figure out this phone call before I check back in. Thank you!
