Missing NY swimmer trying to disappear?

Wonder if they have been looking at him in connection to any other crimes?

Well, there you go, Just K. Your post makes me all the more sure Roth should be looked at as the LISK. He certainly fits the criteria, especially the area and type of work he did (communications/Manhatten/SG's caller to little sister), places he lived, and having pretended to be an LE officer. Desperation of thinking he may finally have been caught may have been what made him attempt to fake his death and flee the country. And where to? Another location with ocean and beaches. We'll see.

ITA, LaLaw! I hope LE is watching this guy while he is finishing his culinary course. I also wonder how long he has had that timeshare in FL! Geesh I don't understand why the judge allowed this man to be out on the streets for 90 days. Whether he is LISK is yet to be determined but he clearly seems unstable, IMO.

Both MB and MG mothers recived calls from a man who said he was police, this man is suspected to possibly have been the killer.

How far did everyone dig into this? I remember reading about it but nothing specific. We know one person that has tried to act as if he were LE lately.

Yep, and that is why I posted a link to his voice mail message to his wife Evana.

Here is the link to the voice of the (maybe) west mesa killer. Does anybody think RR and this voice are similiar?

I'm not good with comparisons, so I just thought I'd see what others think. TIA

One more RR Hodge Podge link:

Just in case it rings any bells, here is a link to a phone message to his wife about the house. His NY accent is not heavy to this Mid-Atlantic raised listener. He sounds like a calm slightly drunk older white guy to me.

Sounds like a calm, drunk white guy!

I like him even more for LISK after hearing this!

But...

- Wouldn't the police have already done a voice comparision?

- Wouldn't they have played This for MBs sister to see if his voice was familiar?

Or...

Maybe they have and are on to him and trying to build a case?

Of course they wouldn't share that with the public.

I sure would like to ask ER (his unfortunate spouse) some questions!

Does RR sound like the WM killer? Hard to tell but, they DID think there might be a connection between LISK and WM. If RR is being discussed in discussions of LISK, then this could be an important comparison to make.

Thoughts?

way to think outside the box--but I'd say not the same--keeping working at it though---never know--This guys sounds like he is from upper NY or PA originally, and sounds to be somewhat "slow" in mental nature--kind of given away by the "ok, bye", a trait of "slower people"

When you say "This guys " which "guys" do you mean?

RR or the WM voice mail?

"ok, bye" ; ))

P.S.

They both sound slow ...or more accurately... DRUNK!

MO only, the WM guy sounds like he is trying to affect an effeminate character. He sounds calm and drunk but he also sounds like he may not be a white guy. Also, he doesn't have that "The Donald" NY manner/accent.

All I can agree on is that they both sound like they've been drinking. I still cannot rule out the lisk using a voice changing app. He would know about that if his profession is communications/tech/phone company. IIRC, MB's little sister said that the man who called her sounded 'normal' and didn't have a specific accent. (Someone please correct if I am mistaken.) I find that odd because the guy apparently spends alot of time in NY and that's a regional dialect that is very distinct. MPO

Except to a New Yorker, a less heavy NYC accent might not sound abnormal. If one has a very similar accent, he/she often doesn't hear the accent. Some folks can't even distinguish between a NYC and a NJ accent BUT they are actually very different. Then even within the same state there can be several variations of the regional accent.

RR sometimes sounds like a New Yorker but on some words/phrase he just sounds Mid-Atlantic. The WM guy has that non-descriptive American accent...either Mid-Atlantic (similar to Washington, DC, Philadelphia, suburban Maryland or Northern Virginia) or urban Mid-West like Colorado, Arizona, or even Nevada. IMO, of course.

Re: The "OK, Bye"...that is very common in the Washington Metropolitan area (DC, Maryland & Virginia.)

Just to be clear: John Ray, esq. (attorney for MG) vs. Raymond Roth, poi. Correct?

That was a quote from RRs lawyer Brian Davis. Saying Ray (as in Raymond) has psychiatric issues.
