It’d make more sense for Suzie to discuss Sherrill’s business with friends if her friends knew or knew of the people making threats against Sherrill. I think if Janelle and Mike don’t absolutely know who was responsible, they have a good idea.
I wish we knew what Mike and Janelle told LE and the McCalls immediately after they disappeared.
Bingo! That was my thought also! Let me give you a scenario that makes sense to me.
Sherrill was a well liked and trusted hairdresser in a small town, one of her clients disclosed something extremely confidential and personal to her. ( Could be regarding the supposed drug connection, money laundering, or even a potentially explosive domestic situation, many Rumors and Theories can fit this scenario)...
Sherril and Susie had an extremely close mother/daughter relationship, that could sometimes turn volatile, due to possible boundaries crossing friendship with motherhood.
In a moment of anger or just teenage drunkenness, Suzie disclosed this information as a way of “Venting”, unfortunately maybe to the wrong person, another “friend” turned “Frenemy” (Janelle), who unfortunately was not as discreet as Suzie, and possibly did not realize the consequences of her actions until it was too late...
Stacy was as everyone knows , just a tragic victim of time and circumstances...

Frenemy....I'm beginning to lean that way also. She has people who 'protect' her on another site, they make excuses for her actions.
Do we know for sure Janelle was a less than discreet person?

Springfield News-Leader, June 10, 1992
When describing Suzie Streeter:
"She rarely drinks alcohol, but sometimes holds a can of beer in her hand when she's around people who drink."
So odds are, if Suzie spilled some beans....probably not drunk but maybe trying to 'impress' others. I can see that as sadly possible.

Not sure about Janelle and alcohol but she looks absolutely ill in that now famous graduation photo. Party much? Stacy and Suzie both looked healthy and happy.

LE overlooked a lot in favor of the ugly van, serial killers and parking garage.
I smoke. Cashiers where I buy cigarettes could pick me out of a line up. Sherrill probably bought cigarettes at the same store. It’s what smokers do.
Most interesting is the cashier said Sherrill was looking for 3 girls-Suzie, a blonde and a brunette. Why would a parent leave home at that time of the morning-when Stacy and Suzie allegedly made it to Sherrill’s-to look for her daughter at a convenience store?
Who was the brunette? If nothing else it should’ve made the George’s sighting more believable. Sherill was a regular at each place.
It’s insane that LE seemed dismissive of sightings by people familiar with Sherrill.
I’d love to know if Janis McCall found the sightings at all believable.
This post and the cigarette post just gave me chills, see my hypothetical scenario.
It is amazing that all of a sudden there are no forum experts chiming in, or obscure sources remembering long lost telephone calls etc.
As my grandmother used to say “ I was born at night, but not last night! “

I think the Kirby’s and McCalls probably discouraged Janelle and Stacy hanging out with Suzie and considered her a bad influence-grave robbers thing and she’d lived with boyfriends. I’m not sure about Mrs. Kirby, but Mrs. McCall didn’t seem to think much of Suzie or Sherrill."

"I never sensed there was much of a relationship" with Bartt said Kathy Kirby," End quote. News-Leader, June 12, 1992. (Springfield paper)

Hmmmm, IMO.....Mrs. Kirby sounds a bit....'catty'.....rrrrrrRAR
Or is it just my imagination....

I know....right? Maybe the 'experts' are on vacay or .......oh don't worry. He'll (I mean 'they'll) be back to throw us off the trail. I do wonder about these 'experts' with their 'reliable sources'...who enjoy muddying up the waters.

I keep mentioning Janelle but something jumped out at me on the last page. Janelle went though the house and answered the phone. So she knew what Stacy was wearing the night before so why didn’t she find it strange that Stacey had left her clothes on the floor of the bedroom.

The whole thing of walking though that house and seeing everything left behind and then going to Waterpark as if everything was ok is seriously messed up.

ETA - Janelle also said when she arrived Cinnamon was scared and shaken.

Nobody can justify her actions that day as they just don’t add up.

Mr Moose, what is really going on here? Your best source of “Obscure Facts?” What does that even mean? Don’t pm me , this is for all members to ask of you and themselves... My most obscure source currently is my dog, we communicate regularly, however , nothing notable that my fellow armchair sleuths who deal with real facts, timelines, pictures, forensic experts, and Verified Insiders... Don’t make a mockery of our intelligence or this site...
think you mean mr mule!
mm wont bring anything to support his'inside' knowledge.
tell you what you bring to the table is wrong but mysteriously won't support his own.

afik he has had a phone conversation with media 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 cox who has tried his hardest to talk to anyone who will listen to him, try and inject himself into the case.

I haven’t done any research on my favorite suspect. He wouldn’t be on the site anyway. However, it is possible to read the earliest articles which help to focus on facts nd hearsay.
I didn't ask you to do any research on your favourite suspect??
you offered to share info from a newspaper archive subscription.
I asked you to share it to the thread as it would be useful.

Sorry K-mac,
You are exactly right , that is who I am referring to. It is so obvious , a blind man could see,and it is consistent on EVERY forum, there had to be an agenda, if only for attention. I confused the names, because on another forum the individual also goes by an M name that I totally suspect is him... I hope the mods are thoroughly vetting each new member so that posters are not using more than one screen name . My hinky meter when up very recently at a “new “ poster with the very same distinct tone...

What will it be this time , Cox, the grave diggers, Van lady , or poor little cinnamon... Enquiring minds want to know...

That’s where I have an issue. I think it would be more plausible for someone(s) that knew the girls were supposed to go back to Suzie’s house to use that knowledge to cover the initial act. Whether the girls got to the house and left again or the cars, clothes were brought back and staged when they came to get Sherrill is just more speculation on my part, like everything else in this case.

You really could be onto something that LE missed here...

Who knew the girls decided to sleep at Suzie's vs Janelle's?

Hello?
Did I miss something? Yeah, I picked MooseMeMuch before I learned there was a Missouri Mule.

Sorry for the confusion....I have a Chocolate Lab, his nickname is ..... Moose.
MooseMeMuch.......maybe that will help  clear up the confusion :)

The “other girl” comment reeks of jealousy. Janelle saying Stacy being with Susie was a freak situation sounds like Janelle was covering for Stacy-as if there was no reason for them to be together.
Janelle’s concern about Stacy and Suzie is weird. She had a boyfriend-which is usually the only thing on a teenage girl’s mind.

Maybe Stacy dated someone her parents wouldn’t approve of-or liked a friend of Suzie’s and hung out with her to get close to that person.
Suzie and Sherrill ate pizza together, just them. It wouldn’t be unusual for a family to include a single mom and her daughter-a classmate without a big family-in their graduation dinner, but the McCall’s and Janelle all but said that wasn’t an option.
I wonder if Suzie’s best friend Nigel wasn’t with them because she didn’t fit in or care to fit in with them. I was with my best friend on graduation night.
It bugs me that Suzy and Stacy took
2 cars to Sherrill’s. Nigel said Suzie’s car wasn’t in its usual spot, and that bothers me more.

A few questions for anybody who knows.

Where did the rumour come from that Sherrill was dating George Carnahan and was it ever proven to be correct?

Who corroborated the story that Stacey and Suzie left at about 2.15am that morning to go back to Suzie’s home. Was their more witnesses than Janelle and her mum?

Just a thought. Who really knows if the phone call to Sherrill saying the girls were going there to sleep really happened. Any of the ones that would be able to say 100% that it did happen aren't here. Maybe the girls never even made it back to the house but it was staged like they did. As far as the washcloth with the makeup, is there any proof that it was from graduation night? By the time anyone got there in the morning that washcloth would have already been drying or already dry if it was from a previous day. That would also help explain why all the purses were lined up like they were (someone unfamiliar with the girls and how they acted dropped them there). Same with the cigarettes being in the living room. (They didn't know that the girls usually took them to the bedroom with them) If someone did stage the girls being there, then they would have had to kidnap Sherrill since she was there and now a witness to what was going on. It's hard to put into words what I am thinking in my head so I hope this all makes sense!!

ned

Good thoughts ALL......it makes sense. Even Mrs. McCall mentioned the purses lined up as 'weird'. Anyone of the 'friends' have an OCD problem?

And good catch on those cigarettes..."Mom was a chain-smoker. Even when she came out of the bdrm to say a word she'd have a cigarette in her hand." Bartt

Did LE over-think this case?

should we go start digging in Janelle's backyard? or how about all those relatives from Kansas? this is a really gruesome thought...what if relatives took 'em home....would explain why nobody's found any of their 'remains'.
Sounds cray cray....surely not! Gross.
I looked the Kirby'd up and there's a relative just over the line in Harrison, AK. Last name is Henson, female. No close relatives, that I could find w/out paying $$$, from KS.
What is Kathy Kirby's maiden name?

I love Nigel......she brought a cake over that night, for Suzie. Nigel seems genuinely sad.
Good point on nobody inviting the 2 over for dinner...pizza. That's really sad when you stop to think about it. And I've wondered the same thing about Nigel, she loved Suzie. And I've heard about the car deal, IMO, SPD dismissed that fact.

Yes, 'red herrings' all over the place......I question.....why.
