Is it possible she left of her own volition ?
Although the submerged car with all of her belongings makes this sound unlikely. :(
I'm sure her families' hearts sank at this news.

Was she in any disputes with anyone ?
Is she a single mother ?
Any custody disputes ?
Moms with children are --imo -- highly unlikely to disappear on their own, without trying to take the kids with them !
So this case seems very sad and does not appear certain that it will have a happy ending. :(
It sounds like she was seen with someone and may have unintentionally come to harm.

Hope I'm wrong for her families' sake, and esp. her little ones.
Maybe she fled a dangerous situation ?
But in that case by now she'd have contacted her family ?
Hope she will be found and restored to her children.
MOO.

I think we all know where this is headed: Victim in a new relationship with one that can't keep clean to save his soul. She believed she was doing a good deed transporting him and she became collateral damage.

Dealers and users are a rough crowd. This is also NA country with a relative on every corner available to assist. I think the questions need to start with the vehicle. Somebody saw it and knows exactly how it ended up in the Lake and who put it there.

Four young children left without a mother... :(:(:(:(

And open cases dating back to April 2018 (with cash bond forfeitures in the thousands)! Another sad statistic..

Actually, I'm finding very few details about the rental and the lake. I know that AC's personal items were recovered from the vehicle and that's about it. o_O

ETA: Reports are that her family located the vehicle...

Ashley L. Miller was reported missing on Sep. 24 when her family found the vehicle she was driving east of Hinckley.

Miller was last seen in Lake Lena Community, which is part of the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe in Pine County.

[..]

Miller is originally from Burnett County, Wisconsin. Officials from Pine and Burnett counties have performed K-9, drone, aircraft and foot searches in an attempt to locate Miller.

“We have searched areas by foot as well as using our drone when possible leads are identified,” Pine County Sheriff Jeff Nelson said in a statement on Facebook.

“We have worked to identify possible ‘sightings’ as they have been called in. Burnett County in Wisconsin is also doing the same in their jurisdiction.”

Search for missing Wisconsin mother continues Sunday

11/5/21

SANDSTONE, Minn. (FOX 9) - Search efforts for a missing woman from western Wisconsin will continue this Sunday around Graces Lake just east of Hinckley, Minnesota.

Ashley Miller Carlson has been missing since September 24 after her vehicle was found in Graces Lake. Her family says there was no sign of her in or around the lake, and she was last seen the previous day in the Lake Lena (Aazhoomog) community of the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe in Pine County.

The large search party will begin at 10 a.m. until the sun goes down on Sunday, November 7. Community members who want to help are meeting at a basecamp at the Lake Lena (Aazhoomog) Community Center on Grace Lake Road in Sandstone, Minnesota. Water and food will be provided, but organizers are encouraging people to bring extra.

Pine County Police suggest searchers use GPS tracking apps on their phones to let investigators know where they have searched, according to the Facebook event that has important details for those interested in joining the search party.

Organizers also wrote that all searchers must wear blaze orange or neon green/yellow. Be prepared by dressing warm and bringing waterproof boots to navigate through swampland. They suggest bringing walkie talkies, whistles and anything else that may help search efforts.

This search is part of many efforts to find Ashley. Her family is offering a $20,000 reward for anyone with information. They have hired a private investigator and set up a private tipline at 218-241-0341.

Have they drained the pond where her car was found submerged ?
:(
To be clear, it's only family that has stated the vehicle was submerged in the lake with all her belongings inside.

I believe authorities have limited information about the vehicle to the car being abandoned near Lake Lena Community.

Seems LE doesn't want those involved in disappearing AC aware of what they know.

Yes, they definitely know more than they are telling us. Small communities. People talk. Rumors spread. LE doesn't want to tip their hand.

Nov 12
Investigators will expand search areas in Minnesota as a Wisconsin mother of four remains missing after nearly two months.

The Burnett County Sheriff's Office says new searches for Ashley Miller Carlson on public land in Pine County are planned in the coming days. They are warning deer hunters to use caution and report anything they might find.

Since September 24, when Carlson was reported missing and subsequently her car was found partially submerged in Grace Lake, deputies say they have conducted "exhaustive searches" with help from partner law enforcement agencies and volunteers, including 15 ground searches, seven drone searches, and two searches of Grace Lake.
