It’s definitely happened before. Sometimes NamUs pages are just neglected as well. Could be either or really.

Out of curiosity, what was the other incorrectly closed profile you had seen?

There actually have been a few. The first one was the one u was looking at yesterday. But a quick search shows it’s happened a few times.

I did send another mail to the Doe Network today with questions about their notification that this John Doe is identified. It's all very confusing. We have to clear this up.

Good news. The Doe Network notified me that they are reinstating the UID's webpage and updating the information.

Per Doe Network, he has been identified and added to their list of 2024 Closed Cases.

I think there's a possibility there's been a mistake. They cite NamUs but his profile is still up. The NamUs profile linked on his Doe Network page is not the correct one.. I sent them a message, hoping I'll hear back.. Perhaps DN have more info and NamUs hasn't taken down his profile yet. Texas isn't particularly good at removing profiles after identifications.

Hi all, long time lurker but first time poster. I googled this woman's case and found this from the doe network, it appears she has already been identified. Unless this is a massive coincidence and this is a different woman.

I know it seems like a stretch that he could be the guy he is said to be identified as, but the pictures are many years apart. The eye color is the same, and the height range similar. This guy was 45 at the least in 2005/06 according to the age ranges posted. Paul was born in 1960, which would mean he would have have been 45 as of Oct, 2005. So the age range also fits. This guy assumed his false identity in 1990. Paul disappeared in 1987. So that fits too.
