MN - Beau Shroyer, Wife of Detroit Lakes missionary killed in Angola arrested in connection to his death

I agree. And it’s very possible she is being blamed for a murder someone else committed. Or not. But even their church back home isn’t really defending her, so I wonder what they know. Time will tell.

The pastor may also have told the other parishioners not to talk to the press. I understand that.

The statement put out by SIM made it sound like that organization was helping the family with child care and legal representation.

There was a very detailed article posted about 8 hours ago on another website that I’m not sure I’m allowed to mention. It was written in Portuguese with English translation provided. The article, if accurate, answers a lot of our questions.

If it's MSM you can post it.

What was the website? Someone can tell you if it's considered MSM or not.

So according to this article, the wife developed a romantic relationship with a man hired for security, and then she hired him and two other guys to off her husband.

Yep. She offered them $50k to do it, and paid $400 up front. Good grief. RIP, Beau.

Not buying that one.

Where would she come up with $50K and why no news mention of other arrests?

There are other arrests. From the article above, with Google Translate:

"Three people, two men and the missionary’s wife, Jackie Shroyer, have been arrested and a fourth suspect “actively involved in the crime” is on the run, said SIC spokesman Manuel Halaiwa, who said the inmates were being held for the crime of skilled homicide."

It's entirely possible that she didn't have anything more than the $400, and was relying on them being too scared for their own skins to complain about it.

A cursory viewing of true crime would have told her that the first to talk gets the best deal. $400 wasn't going to buy anyone's loyalty or silence for long.

The website where I saw the article with English translation was Reddit.
I wasn’t sure if Reddit could be referenced.

No to reddit, but yes to the article. We got it though! You did great!

Maybe a life insurance policy would pay them off.

Yep. Not a coincidence the number was $50,000. Kind of dead on for the policy they could afford.

Well, this turned out to be about the crappiest version within the range of possibilities. Kills him for peanuts and she was giving those peanuts away. So what was next? Shack up with the head of security in Angola?

That was unexpected and not where my mind first went! Moo

Sounds like maybe she did want to be there.

Sounds like she wanted to run the mission.... no more taking orders from dreary Beau, no more submitting and all this whatnot, him head of the household, what nonsense... why not be head of mission, collect the insurance, hire more blokes to get rid of the accomplices, and then run off to Mozambique and evangelise the unsuspecting and generous considerate folks of Maputo... they speak Portugese, too, another of the Portugese colonies gone to Independence...

somewhere in this is a whole lot of sex, money and religion. All gone sour.
