Judge said they would do jury questions by Zoom so we wouldn't know about any of them, if they had any.

Interesting impact of Covid on trials and the perspective of viewers. I didn't pick this up myself. Thanks.

I didn't know that 2nd degree was not even included in the beginning....per CBSN

I'm not in Minneapolis but my neighborhood in Manhattan has been very active in protests, etc. We are watching - people are definitely paying attention. I don't expect tonight to be quiet.

The guy on WaPo just mentioned helicopters in NYC and that is true - I hear a helicopter.

The anticipation is gonna make it worse if it’s not guilty. IMO
I seeeeeeeriously doubt it, considering they came back so quickly, jmo.

Omg the crowds!
If only George could see how many people are here for him. It’s actually spine tingling they are chanting ‘what do we want? Justice, when do we want it? Now!’

it’s coming

Peacefully protesting will be fine, but what's mostly happened in this torn apart city isn't protesting by any stretch of the imagination.

That's what concerns me, and its happening in this city, and other many cities who have had such awful riots doing over two BILLION dollars in damage.

I absolutely disagree that that is what mostly happens. The vast majority of protests are peaceful. The few ruin it for all, as the destruction they cause is so terrible and visual.

Grateful that it's almost 22:00 here so I can have a very large glass of wine in hand. Although wherever you are and whatever time it is it's justified tbh!

I want to go outside for a sec but I know as sooooon as I do.. they’ll be there to read the verdict

Broke out my crown peach for this. Very hard to find it here in FL, but I will be toasting to George for justice

DO NOT MOVE! you will be so upset with yourself!

I was supposed to be helping my husband paint... told him it wasn't my fault that they reached a verdict so quick:confused:

I said to my husband a few minutes ago that I can’t imagine how any person of conscience and empathy could watch the video of Mr George Floyd’s torturous death under Chauvin’s knee and not find him guilty of something. Nothing the defense presented changes what we all saw. People of conscience may disagree about what charges Chauvin is guilty of based on the finer points of evidence, but the excuses presented by Nelson (the distracting “mob,” drugs, prior health issues, etc) were a master class in gaslighting....telling us that what we saw wasn’t what really happened.

Re-reading the charges, I believe Chauvin is guilty of all three.

Hi there my friend!

Thank you for the information.

That makes sense with the Covid restrictions in place.

Shortly after word went out that the jury has reached a verdict in the Derek Chauvin trial, law enforcement officials began shutting a newly-installed gate at Minneapolis Police Headquarters. #ChauvinTrialOnHLN #ChauvinTrial live

Does the judge get to see the verdict before it is read?
IIRC, he looks at is before it is read, but only as it is about to be read (he doesn't know the verdict now).
