My attention span is shortening with this questioning. Is the intent to prove GF’s meth/fentanyl levels were not lethal?

and it's like the prosecutor heard you... on to cross examination!

I'm from the UK too :)

I came to the case from the other side thinking Chauvin is the worst of the worst, but interested in hearing the defense's case.

What I've learnt from watching this trial live (actually my first time watching a live trial) is that trial by media is a very real and very damaging thing.

I still have my opinion that is in favour of the state at present, but there are definitely things that I've come to learn from this trial already that make me consider points in favour of the defense, so before making any decision I await their case.

In the UK we don't really get that benefit as much. Yes we can read hundreds of pages of trial transcripts after the trial ends, but we don't get the benefit of understanding all the evidence at the time of the trial, and all we know is through the media.

One of the reasons I think the UK needs to catch up televised/live video trials IMO.
Court Tv are showing it gavel to gavel from around 3.30pm GMT until 10.30-11pm. With re runs throughout the day you can watch online or on sky channel 179. I’m in the UK too and regularly watch trials online, there is usually a link somewhere in the thread for a live feed but with high profile trials, court TV shows them all day.

yes, they compared Floyd's levels to both DUI cases so alive individual and post mortem levels, he was way below DUI on both

I zoned out a bit, but I think that was true for meth, but not fentanyl JMO because I will have to go back and watch it all in 2x speed later.

Sorry I was referring to UK trials. Which are not televised :) I'm watching this one play by play :)

Did Nelson not get an updated report

They are taking a 20 minute break for jurors.. not sure if they will show us what they are going to do in court

ETA: I can still see them, but no audio :(

Am I behind? LOL I still see cross exam going on...

Sorry, time difference here and when one of the CNN hosts said "see you back here tomorrow" I thought she meant the trial was over today. Ugh .. need a nap.

Nelson: Are you aware of the term "hooping?"
Objection (couldn't hear grounds)
Judge: You can answer if you know
Witness: I do not know

Questioning moved on...

The media has been outrageously biased in the coverage of this case, IMO, and I think that is incredibly damaging.

By only reporting on the facts that support a certain narrative, the media denies the general public the ability to make an informed decision IMO.

RSBM: It certainly depends on which "media" one relies (watches, listens, reads) on. Both sides in this case have plenty of media support behind them.

Jury sent out. Nelson claiming prosecution didn't send him updated material and he's been working with unrevised docs, while prosecution using revised docs. Judge thinks honest mistake. Take break until 3:40 p.m. court time.

So apparently he got an updated version on April 6th, but didn't see it or something. He's a bit frustrated me thinks lol

Judge letting them take a quick break and move on, no biggie. I like this judge :)

Judge says he believes people are acting in "good faith." Nelson says it was his fault b/c he assumed the new version he got was a 2nd copy of the same document. Reconvene at 3:40 p.m

Civil law here and exhibits at the last minute are super common. Changes, additions, redactions, happens all the time. Frustrating for sure, but it absolutely happens, and attorneys have to stay on top of that. IMO.

Can I say Nelson "assuming" it was a copy of a version he already had AND alleging they did not send the second copy is not only unprofessional but unethical? because it is IMO.
@AzPistonsGirl yeah, down here even in Criminal, you can be called to litigate in an Appelate Court at 3am the same day you are supposed to be there at 8am and if you don't, you lose (happened to a colleague)

He said he saw it but assumed it was the same as the previous copy. I would think there would be something to indicate that it had been changed or corrected or was somehow different from the original document. I think Nelson is becoming a bit unnerved. I actually feel sorry for him. He seems to be fighting a losing battle.

IMO It was a genuine error from Nelson. No harm done. Judge fair and reasonable. I'd have him over for a cuppa.

Nelson has had a very bad day, so...... Blame the prosecution.
