Good morning trial watchers - I thought they were going to have a hearing on the Morries Hall issue this morning to see if he’s going to invoke a blanket 5th amendment!? Or has that been decided already? I missed most of yesterday.

They are putting him on the stand knowing he will say nothing atall? Can Nelson ask for a mistrial due to this? Seems a waste of time getting him up there just to plead the fifth, Nelson will be talking to himself...
Yes, it's scheduled for this morning. However, we're not sure if the hearing with MH will be streamed.
He had a hearing on HIS charges yesterday. Here is the Twitter thread that was posted yesterday on it. Maybe Cathy will be able to report on the hearing for this trial as she did yesterday. The Hall hearing will NOT be in front of the jurors....
MOO, Nelson wants him up there to plead the fifth minimally, to point to the doubt that he did an overdose in the jury. And if that happens, he can point perhaps to the one charge that the person responsible IN one of the charges (3rd degree) for Chauvin, is that Hall is responsible due to drug overdose. And not Chauvin. iykwim.
MOO
The prosecution refusing to grant a key witness — Hall — immunity is of no surprise, as there’s a probability he could be culpable of GF’s death under MN law, creating the reasonable doubt for DC. One could call this a suppression of facts, IMO.
I do believe he would only help the defense. I’m undecided on why exactly he doesn’t want to testify. It could be many things and multiple things. I’m sure his safety is up there on the list.Anyone consider that if he is allowed to testify, Hall will be helping Chauvin and though may feel safe about not incriminating himself legally, may not be so safe on the street...? How do you think GF's family and supporters will react to him if he does testify for the Defense?

(c)Leading questions..MOO it will be very interesting today to see how the prosecution does when they are on the opposite side of the cross examination roles. (Not allowed to do leading questions)
