Judge Cahill tells jurors they’re going to hear about George Floyd’s May 6, 2019 arrest.

They’re now playing body camera video from May 6, 2019.

Creighton: Keep your hands where I can f*****g see them...I'm not gonna shoot you put your hands on the dash.

The video paused when officers pulled Floyd from the passenger seat of a red SUV. Erin Eldridge for the state called for a brief sidebar.

Creighton confirms the passenger was George Floyd.

Eric Nelson says he has no further questions for Creighton. Prosecution will now cross examine.

Eldridge: And when you approach Mr. Floyd, he said, Don't shoot me man, I don't want to get shot right?

Eldridge asks Creighton a series of questions about the commands he & other officers gave to Floyd.

E: And then you said put your hands where I can see them correct..then you put his hands in the air...then you told him to put his hands on the dash…

Judge Cahill called for a brief sidebar after that series of questions.

They came back and Judge Cahill says, “Technology is not our friend today.”

Nelson had a brief redirect. Eldridge is now back up to re-cross examine.

.MOO it will be very interesting today to see how the prosecution does when they are on the opposite side of the cross examination roles. (Not allowed to do leading questions)

When I just viewed this defense exhibit, I was wondering why the defense showed this first exhibit.

Answering my own question above.. the prosecution is reinforcing this submission is more beneficial to the prosecution. MOO. What was the defense thinking to show this?

BREAKING: State of Minnesota rests its case in #DerekChauvinTrial Defense calling 1st witness.

1ST DEFENSE WITNESS: #Mpls police officer Scott Creighton. Creighton was part of 2019 drug arrest of #GeorgeFloyd. I expect this is the witness the defense will use to get body worn camera footage from that prior incident entered into evidence for this jury to watch.

Creighton has retired from MPD. Judge Cahill has read a statement to the jury about the May 6, 2019 arrest of #GeorgeFloyd. Judge tells them, this is *not* to be used as character evidence against #GeorgeFloyd. Its limited intent is to show potential impact of opioids on Floyd.




Judge Cahill has allowed #DerekChauvin defense permission to play a short clip from officer Creighton's body worn camera footage from the 2019 arrest. Creighton's approach only until #GeorgeFloyd gets out of vehicle & is handcuffed.

2019 FLOYD ARREST: Officer Creighton testifies encounter with #GeorgeFloyd escalated quickly with him having to draw his service weapon. Here is some additional footage of the arrest from its initial public evidence release. Again, jury only watched to point Floyd is handcuffed.

Judge Cahill gives jurors the same notice he gave prior to Creighton. “This evidence is not to be use as evidence of the character of Mr. Floyd.” #

So Nelson is claiming DC’s actions were lawful and reasonable, but even if they weren’t that doesn’t matter because GF overdosed coincidentally at the very moment his neck was under DC’s knee. But if it wasn’t that then drugs, heart problems, excited delirium. If it was none of those then blame the unruly mob.

Talk about slinging mud until something sticks.

Moseng was called to treat George Floyd on May 6, 2019. She says it was “quite hard to assess him…”

Eldridge objects, judge asks Nelson to ask q's

Moseng said Floyd told her about taking an opiate. She started to say he was agitated, but Judge Cahill had the answer stricken. Told her to wait for the question.

Nelson hands Moseng the run sheet from that call to help her recollect Floyd’s vital signs from that day.

Moseng says Floyd’s blood pressure was 216 over 160.

Eldridge is now cross examining.

Moseng: Initially he denied medical issues, but then when I discovered his blood pressure I specifically asked again. And he said yes, he had history of hypertension, and had not been taking his medication.

Moseng testifies that Floyd told her he was addicted, but was able to walk.

Eldridge notes that in the run sheet that Moseng wrote that Floyd was alert, obeyed commands and wasn’t nauseous or vomiting.

If I was a juror, I would want to right now throw sphaghetti. They are trying to slam George because he did drugs? WTH??????????????

This, as a juror, would pizz me off as it does sitting at my computer.

Thankfully, it is showing his bp 216/160 and what they did at the time and he lived.

Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeez, this is a person that should have done for the prosecution, but MUCH MUCH more impactful that the DEFENSE thinks this is a DEFENSE.

That he survived before etc with help...

Eldridge notes that Moseng reported that Floyd’s heart rhythm was normal, respiratory effort was normal, and didn’t have a stroke while she was w/him.

Eldridge: You took him to the hospital. Correct?
Moseng: Correct.
Eldridge: … and was monitored for two hours and released right after, right?
Moseng: I don't know.
Eldridge: Nothing further your honor.
