Finish defense's case today?! He's done two days in comparison to State's just under two weeks.. Is that normal?
I was out picking flowers for my cat's memorial display- is the defense really resting today after the last witness? Thanks!

I’m so sorry your cat passed.

Sounds like they could be.

I think that was surmised because the judge said he would give tonight for the prosecution to prepare a rebuttal case. No way to know.

Direct is over with Fowler and cross will start after lunch (about 5 mins).

(Sorry about your cat)

But we know from previous testimony that a partially dissolved pill was found in the squad car in either Dec 2020 or Jan 2021 (I can't quite recall the date, but it wasn't right away). It had GF's DNA on it.
Yes. So this alleged pill this witness claims to see in the mouth could reasonably be assumed to be said pill. The fact that said pill was found shows it was not ingested and/or a minute amout of it was. Yes, one could argue how much could possibly have been ingested if just the outer layer had been ingested. We have heard testimony from multiple experts have testified that the amount was not fatal levels. So this partially ingested pill issue doesn't affect anything for me other than create unecessary noise and should be disregarded IMO.

wow, that just got off to a pretty hostile start

Blackwell is going in hot and fast

Aw it’s Blackwell. Wish it was S but he’s gonna do well also. Is defense resting today???

  • #229
ackkk Blackwell is coming off as very hostile.

I think that part of Nelson's success on cross examination was the fact that he remained calm and it came off as if it was his own witness.

Well they may be tired of the lies! Did they try to impeach anyone yet?

Thanks to all for your sympathy and kindness! He passed at the end of August; we still miss him terribly, but we had him for 21 years. It helps so much to have everyone's compassion...

He's hot on his tail with his questions. Wooah!!

The defense is really resting after this last witness?

I think DC is a murderer and deserves to be put away forever.

But I also think he deserves a full and competent defense and I'm not sure that he's received one. That concerns me a lot. No matter how heinous the crime, everyone deserves fair council and a fair trial. That is why we have a justice system.

Honestly.. and this is my opinion.. I feel like if this is the defense case.. Chauvin may be convicted. IMO!

If this is their last witness, it IMO may be because they couldn’t find anyone else to testify to such absurdity!

While I think the State will be asking tough questions I worry his demeanor might turn one juror against the State. I don't know, but his tone seems a bit of "gotcha" questions. We shall see as it continues.

The State either overlooked getting carbon monoxide testing done or they purposefully didn't want it tested somehow because any of the results would be admitted (likely,IMO) and that could work against some of their case. I don't know, just thinking aloud.

I’m sure most won’t agree but I think this witness did good for the defense. I think he may have reached at least one juror and created a bit of reasonable doubt.

I've watched trials for decades, and when the state comes at the witness in attack mode on cross he or she believes the testimony he's or she's given possibly hurt the state's case at least with one jury.

ok wait.... the car was ON, wasn't it? It was one of the later officers that said they turned it off hours later, no?

I was expecting to hear about it being a hybrid, guess not
