Exactly! it did not cause his death. Autopsy does investigations of what was a result of something. Pathologists work on the dead. Baker looked at information from when he was alive, but could not do blood gasses as THOSE will not be the same on stored blood. It can only be gleaned from a live person MOO

I'm surprised no objections by the State, they must be really really ready for the cross and just letting Nelson and the witness testify into a corner for their strategy. MOO

How do you think they determine carbon monoxide poisoning deaths?

Interesting that Nelson is now speaking about bruising on strangulation cases and comparing to this case.. and spending time on such.

Q: Were any signs, generally speaking, are signs of injury play into your analysis as to cause of death.......

A: all injuries were to areas where there was not his knee......

Q: In this particular case, where there are allegations of the knee and shinbone would the knee and shin bone would have a greater likelihood of bruising than fingers.
A: Than fingers, yes
Q: And is there any objective findings in the autopsy showing pressure to the back
A: No

Guessing Cathy got bored - she hasn't tweeted since the last one I posted.

And this will be my last copy/paste of them - real life calls!

FLOYD 2019 ARREST: Defense medical expert Dr. David Fowler on significance of #GeorgeFloyd elevated blood pressure that was measured & documented after the 2019 drug related arrest in #Mpls. Court has now resumed after the AM break.

Dr David Fowler detailing his carbon monoxide findings related to death of #GeorgeFloyd. Dr. Fowler has indicated he believes Floyd breathed in chemical exhaust from the nearby MPD squad SUV. Doesn't believe carbon monoxide killed Floyd, but significant contributing factor.

Defense has just used this graphic of the leg from knee to foot to help Dr. Fowler explain why the pressure of #DerekChauvin on #GeorgeFloyd neck & back did not cause the fatal injury. Dr Fowler remains on the witness stand under direct examination.

Tweet reporting has coincidentally stopped during this witnesses testimony.
Admittedly, I had an appt and didn’t see all of his testimony. I came back during that CO testimony...

But don’t think the lack of tweets is because they were mesmerized by this witness and wanted to catch every word.

Well that is not what happened here, so... are you saying in your opinion.... you wouldn't think GF was dying of hypoxia?

That is what this witness is just saying now, GF was not experiencing the confusion, speech, etc.
Really it was just an experience of hypoxia itself. I was hoping though that Mr. Floyd had gone hypoxic so he wouldn't have been as aware of what was happening.

I really hate how this man died.

I’m sure most won’t agree but I think this witness did good for the defense. I think he may have reached at least one juror and created a bit of reasonable doubt.

I dozed off during this “wonderful” long drawn out testimony. I was RESTING COMFORTABLY in my non-prone position. OH YAY ITS SLIDESHOW POWERPOINT presentation time!!!! What have I missed during my nap??

This witness testifies that he sees a white object in Floyd's mouth in one of the photos.

I agree, he has certainly got me listening now

That's all it would take.

I agree, and will be interesting to see how cross goes.

It's striking the difference between him and Baker (state ME), Baker's testimony was just so odd and he seemed to have zero confidence in anything he was saying compared to this guy!

ETA: I think this direct testimony has already lasted longer than Bakers complete testimony.

You have missed nothing, but thanks for reminding us of THE quote of the trial.

Thanks for pointing out! That this questioning should be on POST MORTEM As discussed and asked by defense which even amplifies... Just now rewind listening to...The person would have signs of

confused - witness said NO confusion
disoriented (Wasn't addressed by the witness, we know there were none)
visual changes *spots* they see : witness said NONE
often incoherent (Wasn't addressed by the witness, we know there were none)
difficulty speaking

He had none . (Only difficulty speaking)

Excellent observation.

Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd again, defense talks again and again about open airway. Nelson, that horse left the barn Loooooooooooooong ago. MOO

Fowler: "He goes from pretty much fully functioning, and coherent, to unconscious very rapidly.” As they did yesterday, prosecutors will surely roll the body camera video during cross-examination to argue against this point.

I never knew about going to the setting *gear* on YouTube to slow down or speed up until a previous trial at Websleuths.

Pass it on as it's invaluable, and one reason why I prefer direct YouTubes (in addition to transcripts) vs. feeds through media sites that are not YouTube.

MOO
Mind reader  I wondered if there was a way. Thank you.
