Well yes okay. We know he took pills at some point before but to imply he was caught on camera multiple times over a period of time holding a pill in his mouth is just stupid. He had low levels of meth and "normal" levels of fentanyl in his system so we know he wasn't popping pills every minute. It's a desperate attempt from defence IMO.

I don't like that Blackwell was (IMO) pressuring the witness to answer in just yes or no, because now he's clearly letting the witness elaborate after giving a yes/no or correct/incorrect.

And seeing Blackwell nod his head repeatedly and eagerly waiting for the second the witness stopping would annoy me as a juror.

For me there’s to many unanswered questions....
What happen in the ambulance, when was oxygen administered, when did CPR start, vitials in ambulance. How long were they pulled over, why?
Vitials, test, labs and treatment at ER.
I’m reserving judgement until I see the big picture and all evidence is in.

I'm confused by this. If GF had no pulse when the EMS picked him up, are you saying it might be EMS's fault for being unable to get his pulse back? I'm under the impression that he didn't have a pulse when they got to him. Isn't that correct?

Both state and defense have done this throughout when wanted which is their right.

His demeanor has completely changed. Makes me wonder what he "saw". He looks "experienced", maybe he saw on jurors, how some here felt.

I think the defense is trying to prove that DC did not intentionally or maliciously use an excessive or unnecessary amount of force on him. He had done something similar in the past which lasted 17 minutes IIRC and it had a totally different outcome. Was it excessive or unnecessary in that case? It proved not to be. So how would he have reasonably known it would be this time?

Because he was trained that it could. We are trained not to drink and drive. Yet, a person continues to do it and nothing happens for years. One day, he gets in a wreck and murders someone. How was he supposed to reasonable know it'd be murderous that one time?

Yeah but one of his studies does appear to actually study positional asphyxia and the placement of increasing weight upon the back of someone who is even more restrained than GF was.

Yes he's a little hostile.

It's my experience as a juror all this does is bring more attention to the witness's testimony for the jurors.

Imo, the state is worried this witness may be believed.

This witness is not a hostile witness. He's answering his questions so there is simply no need to be snarky.

I imagine the judge told him to bring down his aggressive tone.

I don't like the prosecutor talking down to him either.

Like him or not the professor comes across as very docile, and respectful.

I think the judge put a cramp in Blackwell’s style and that’s why he seems more subdued! This is cross and Blackwell has the right to be firm and demand only yes or no answers. Nelson did exactly the same! That’s the nature of cross exam. JMO
