Mr Williams (?) the wrestler and mixed martial arts witness talked about Chauvin “shimmying,” or shifting that possibly increased pressure on Mr Floyd. He showed this happening on the video. But Chauvin stayed in the same place on Mr Floyd’s body.

I didn’t see the so-called “shoulder blade” position. He looked to be on Mr Floyd’s neck to me.

You didn't see what Nelson showed the Chief earlier? and what the Chief agreed appeared to be his knee on the shoulder blade and not the neck from a different angle?

I'm not trying to be argumentative, but the Chief DID agree with Nelson.

Did Nelson imply that he hasn’t been given all the training info?

I believe (JMR/IMO):that the vehicle was still running [either from testimony last week (Sgt/Lt or from details in transcripts/interview with BCA)].

I'll try and find the exact reference, but if someone else remembers, please lmk.

Per timeline, the 330 was running when the took it into custody? GF was by the 320 car. I think they took both in and I may have misunderstood that since Chuavin was in one car... it was that onw?

eta

Thanks! I need to go back and check!!! I'll put in my notes for the next timeline to verify which car. Screen shot shared way back showed the water or ??? at his head when he first went down. I was thinking AC as condensation happens even after it's off, like when in your garage after turning off. What I question even to myself, is does this vehicle have a ac portion at the back of the car as that is where it appears to be coming from. MOO Don't know for sure... just an input for consideration.

Was watching from my phone for a bit and not on here... am I wrong in thinking that Chauvin never really changed his position in the video though? I don't recall seeing him shift or move? am I wrong? Sorry, I don't have the time at the moment to go back and watch them.

I see they are showing this witness a photo, but isn't Nelson just going to show the same video showing he was on his shoulder blade? I wasn't watching as intently, so now I feel behind...

I need to go back and watch that video too I think. But we know he did shift and move a little from Donald William’s testimony on Day 2 about shifting his body weight to add extra pressure (there was a wrestling term for it that I can’t recall now).

As you look at ex17 is this a trained technique when you were overseeing it

Witness it is not

We train conscious and non conscious neck restraint. What we train is one arm or two arm. I don’t know what kind of improvised position that is.. It’s not what we trained

State rests

Out of all that today. I think this was the most impactful statement jmo

I have a problem with cop not rolling him to his side -
Failure to render aide isn’t Murder or even close though

Hmm, yes I agree with the first part, but again, a point of contention in the “meat” here, failure to render aid IS murder, imo.

Idk though, legally @Legally Bland @gitana1

What are the statues on this?

going in for a google

Was it that or was he saying that she may not have taught him that... but someone else did?

The current questioning on Duty of Care is critical to the issue of how Mr. Floyd died.

For one of the three charges only?

Witness outside of court "I don't know what [insert expletives here] that was, but it's now what we trained"

I think Nelson was implying that maybe another instructor could have taught and/or depicted a restraint similar to what DC used.

I guess we will find out more when the defense presents their arguments.

Sorry, I might have just been listening at that point. Multitasking. Thanks.

S: Officer as you look at exhibit 17, is this a trained technique that's used by the Minneapolis Police Department...?
KB: It is not.
S: How does this differ [from the neck restraint policy]
KB: I don't know what kind of improvised position that is. So that's not what we train.

Witness outside of court "I don't know what [insert expletives here] that was, but it's now what we trained"

But we have all seen it in the manual right? Sometimes I'm so confused haha

I'm also confused about Chauvin being a FTO if he was known to be such a hot head and so many prior incidents. So now do I question this witnesses judgement as well? Or do I question whether he actually was a hot head/problem officer?

I have to step away for awhile but will be reading... thank you ALL for posting, all views! It's really helpful to look at everything from all views :)
