Crazy...is Nelson not ready for cross...why a break after less than one hour???

I know this Doc would rather be back up north in Grand Rapids but I wish he would at least look to the jury once in a while.

This is his very first time testifying so not surprised that he does not know to look at jury

I like this morning's prosecutor. The questions flow, easy to follow, imo.

Dr. Langenfeld says paramedics never told him that Floyd may have suffered a drug overdose or heart attack when he was brought to emergency room for resuscitation.

Dr. Langenfeld testified that #GeorgeFloyd was in PEA (pulseless electrical activity). He says a common cause of PEA is hypoxia - a condition in which the body is deprived of adequate oxygen.

Why is Morries Hall, the man who was with George Floyd on the day of his death, refusing to testify in the Derek Chauvin trial by pleading the fifth? Watch our discussion.

E.R. doctor said it was not completely possible to rule out that #GeorgeFloyd had a heart attack, but he felt it "was less likely".

First cross exam question to the doc - “you’re not a police officer, right?” Hehe

these are sort of stupid questions by state...know if it was GF..know about videos...this is an ER doc

MOO this is a very common question by the prosecution in cases to show no bias that they knew someone etc. . You'll may have noticed that this has been asked of all witnesses by the prosecution, not just this one.

You made me laugh! I was thinking this doc looked like he would rather be having a root canal than testifying in court!!!!!

Nelson asks if "Hypoxia is the lack of oxygen to the brain. And there are many things that cause hypoxia, that would still be considered asphyxiation."

Dr. Langenfeld said "correct."

Nelson went on to ask about drugs, Fentanyl could cause hypoxia. Langenfeld said yes.

Nelson: And so, Mr. Floyd's carbon dioxide level was more than two times what you would normally expect?

Langenfeld: Correct.

During the break we got some information on the strange issue with the jury this morning. The pool reporters say Judge Cahill appeared to show them a social media post and vaguely asked them about it -- but none of them seemed to know what it was.

Reading through the pool reporter's notes about the Schwarz hearing from this AM.

Judge Cahill showed jurors a social media post and asked "has anybody said that phrase or something similar to anyone that is the basis of that media post?" They said no.

the lack of communication between the scene/emt and emergency department boggles my mind. No consideration of drug overdose...I think this will give defense some ammo

JB: Was your leading theory then for the cause of Mr. Floyd cardiac arrest, oxygen, oxygen deficiency?
DL: That was one of the more likely possibilities.
JB: Is there another name for death by oxygen deficiency?
DL: asphyxia is a commonly understood term.

like to know more about that...of course they will all say no knowledge...I assume the "tip" was that this is one of the jurors posting? Otherwise why ask?

#DerekChauvinTrial - We've learned more about the off-audio conversation with jurors this morning. The judge had a copy of a social media post printed out and placed on each juror's desk. He asked if anyone has said that phrase on the post or something similar. All jurors said no

Juror issue: We don't know what the social media post contained that Judge Cahill asked jurors about but he was content that there was no juror misconduct.

Regarding the jury issue this morning, Judge Cahill said he did it off video/audio because he doesn't want to encourage "internet trolls."

Okay @Chelly - if you are around - I'm going to get ready for my Skype call...

Great clarification there. Narcan would have no beneficial effect on someone who was already in cardiac arrest.
