Looks like PJ#29 was dismissed.

I must say that I'm surprised at the number of attorneys in this jury pool and there are a lot more PJ who haven't been on the stand yet. In my life of court groupie I've only seen a couple of attorneys who were on the jury list.

#DerekChauvinTrial - State Supreme Court denied defense appeal of 3rd-degree murder charge. What this means now is it's up to Judge Cahill if he will reinstate the charge that he previously dismissed. Court of Appeals ordered him to 'reconsider', def appealed to MN supreme ct.

I personally think the PJ#30 is not a good match for this trial. JMO He has such strong convictions and has already formed an opinion that he feels that GF was murdered.

Juror #30 is dismissed.

Does anyone have the number of strikes left with Defense and the Prosecutor.

Jury Selection
3/10/21

Juror #20 - Selected
Male, grew up in central MN, Morrison/Sterns County, getting married in Florida on May 1st. fiance/future wife is a JD. Will change wedding plans if needed. Has heard about the case in the media. With information from the media he feels the event didn’t need to end in GF’s death. Feels he can put everything he has heard aside if he were to serve on this case. Has a female friend in the BCA - her work revolves around science. Vikings season ticket holder. Believes LE and Military fight for citizen rights. Has a family member that may or may not work in LE was possibly an officer 4-5 years ago and hasn’t seen him for a couple years. Doesn’t have much contact with him. Thinks LE is better equipped to be more honest than an ordinary bystander. Because of the dangerous job LE has they need to make split second decisions and those decisions are hard to second guess. However, officers need to be held accountable for their conduct. Somewhat agrees that there are racial disparities and believes there is a systematic issue surrounding Black Americans. Favorable for BLM and unfavorable for Blue Lives Matter. Feels Blue Lives Matter is an indirect of BLM, but believes in police enforcement. Doesn’t feel people give LE the respect or credit they deserve. Thinks there are good cops and bad cops.

Juror #21 -Dismissed on ?

Juror #22 - Dismissed on 3/8

Juror #23 - Dismissed
Female, has lived in and around Minneapolis for the last 40 years, works in Marketing, has a large extended family. Believes this case is a major case with extreme importance. No personal safety or Covid-19 concerns. Is aware and familiar with the case from the media. Has been staying aware from the news and media. Feels she can be fair and impartial. Can put her current opinions on the case aside. Has managed 30-40 staff members and worked through conflict among staff by communication and looking at the whole picture. Doesn’t have a problem changing her mind on something she wrong about. Can keep an open mind and is able to listen to all the evidence. Believes BLM and Blue Lives Matter should all be one - believes all lives matter. Has a relative who is in LE - they don’t talk about topics related to LE. Unsure if she wants to serve on this case. She wants justice and for a fair trial. She thinks there might be someone else more qualified to serve on this case. Believes the aftermath of what happened started out as a demonstration and ended up being Riots. Has been working from home due to Covid-19. Believes the restrictions from Covid-10 have gone a little too far, especially for kids and schooling. She’s not sure if the strict restrictions were necessary or not, says it’s hard to say. Hasn’t had any family or friends that have struggled with addiction. She is anti-drug and feels drug use is an element of what happened and why it happened. It’s a piece of the information for this case. Says she doesn’t have much experience in the drug world. Doesn’t typically watch cop or true crime shows/movies. Has a high degree of trust in LE.

That question "How do you resolve conflict?" has been asked each time by defense atty. It is a difficult one to answer off the top of one's head...IMO.

So far, no one has said that I put them on the ground with a knee on their neck to cut off blood supply.

More facts will come out in trial esp the autopsy report findings. I will hold back judgment until ALL facts are revealed at trial. I am sure there is more than what the media has shown. imo, there always is.

Let's hope that the jurors in this case have not already made their decision.

The jury process is interesting, I was riveted to the "Casey Anthony" trial, I watched it every day, and honestly I was shocked when the jury determined a "Not Guilty".

Unlike the OJ trial, I actually saw the carefully crafted defense to raise doubt about the evidence. And objectively understood the "Not Guilty" outcome.

Chauvin is no angel, but neither was the victim. Chauvin may have had information about the victim, via NCIC background check, that caused him to be more aggressive. That may be a factor to consider.

I was just catching up with today's nightly news and I saw that the three other policemen will not be testifying at his trial. apparently their attorneys are not allowing them to testify .

I did not realize that attorneys could not allow people to testify if they were subpoenaed.

They could just take the 5th. Even when under subpoena. They cannot be compelled to testify in Chauvin's trial if the information could be used against them in their trials.

Thanks, I should have thought of that.

Hello fellow trial sleuths...wondering what everyone things on this 3rd degree to be discussed today. It is now in the hands of Judge Cahill. It is my understanding that Chauvin was offered a plea deal on this count with 10 year sentence but State decided it was not going to be enough for the protestors and it was off the table. Any thoughts?
