Musk responded to a post from Ben Shapiro, the conservative commentator, about the initiative with a simple but provocative remark: "Something to think about."

Billionaire Elon Musk has shared his thoughts on a growing campaign urging President Donald Trump to pardon Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer convicted in the 2020 murder of George Floyd.
No can do for state conviction..22.5 yrs.
His federal plea deal is irrevelant.

Dog whistle much. It is hard to think that people really believe DC is not guilty. I guess those of that thinking pattern exist. It makes me sad to think that Mr. Floyd's brutal death videoed for all the world to see is something that politicians would use to signal their base.

We are living in an alternate universe these days

Elon Musk does not speak for President Donald Trump. I don't see this ever happening.
That was then and this is now.
Josh Green who wrote "The Devil's Bargain" about Steve Bannon and the 2016 election quotes Bannon as saying..paraphrasing

If you want to influence Trump you've got to be the last person he spoke to.
A few phone calls to Trump could do the trick but thankfully Chauvin will remain incarcerated.

Ok, but isn't that true of anyone? President Biden vehemently stated he would not pardon his son. Six months later he gave his son a pardon.

So? He did it because Trump was going to pardon the January 6 protestors. Eye for an eye imo

i doubt the talk of a pardon will come to anything Trumps not going to want the backlash

Thinking more about a federal pardon I think it's a great idea because Chauvin would then be transferred from the federal prison he is now housed in to a state prison for the next 20-ish years.

Good times.
imo

Tiffany Cofield lost one of her best friends, George Floyd, when he died under the knee of a Minneapolis police officer on May 25, 2020. His 9-minute murder was broadcast worldwide. It will soon be five years since they last spoke on the phone, and she has not yet gathered enough time to grieve
