"Prior to these cases, there was also another incident that took place in 1986 by G&T Foods in downtown Paynesville. Here’s the text from the article that ran in the April 1, 1986 edition of the Paynesville Press:"
"On March 9, 1986, the police department received a report of a possible attempted child abduction. While walking near G&T Foods, a 12-year-old boy was asked if he wanted a ride, then asked if he wanted to go to “toyland”. The boy said “no” to both questions and continued walking. The suspect’s car was described as and old blue four-door, square in size."

I was at Fleet Farm in Waite Park/St Cloud on Tuesday and below the main Fleet Farm sign is a banner they hang up for the holiday season that says "Toyland Now Open". Is this the store and Toyland the perp was referencing to in 1986? and if so, St Johns is only down the road from this store about 6 to 10 miles. Do we have a priest from the abbey venturing to Paynesville?

Here's from Joy's blog; Jared's Story; http://www.joybaker.com/2013/08/11/jareds-story/
"Here are some other details Jared remembers:
•The guy was stocky, about 5′ 8″ with husky shoulders, and weighed between 180-190 pounds.
•He had a low-pitched, raspy voice.
•He had big ears that stuck out in the back.
•Early news reports stated that the man was wearing “military fatigues and black military boots,” but Jared discounts this description. “He didn’t look like he just came back from Fort Ripley or anything,” he said. The man’s pants were baggy… like cargo pants, possibly military-issued… but not “camouflaged.”"
That would be my main reference, and I guess also, what Jared said on "The Hunt" from CNN, which I have recorded. As I remember, his main description then was that the guy was 'about the same size as Jacob's abductor, same low-raspy voice, and similar demeanor' - that's pretty much what he said. I think the size is pretty interesting because, he says 5' 8" between 180-190 lbs; Trevor said Jacob's abductor was about the same size as Merle Jerzak; who then stated he was 5' 10" 195 lbs.
Seems to me that it wouldn't be completely impossible for Jared to get an idea from seeing an early pic of DAH, or whoever, but, couldn't be conclusive. I would however expect that he's probably been able to view other pics of DAH, which would be closer in time to 1989, or, however close they could get. I know he's stated that he's seen a lot of pics. I think that even back then, and since then, they've run pretty much every suspect by him; to whatever extent, I'm not certain, but, I believe he's been pretty involved in reviewing suspect photos.
ps: Shergal's response wasn't up, when I started my response. Second time this has happened to me.
DAH was found right away after Jacob's abduction. People identified him out as their molester.
Jared's mother, I.think, said in an interview, or was it Jared, that he was shown tons of suspects and brought to car lots to check out cars.
Please, can anyone give a reasonable explanation why Jared would not see DAH in a line up??
I have to ask again as I cannot do it myself.
DAH is a convicted criminal. His mugshot has to be on file in the counties where he has been arrested.
He is in a medical type facility now-- Moose Lake State Hospital which probably has HIPPA laws.
But his arrests earlier have nothing to do with being in Moose Lake now.
Is there anyone who can go to the counties and ask for the public info of his mugshot?
ELOC--were you able to get access to the same group of folk for interviews as Joy?
"Phantom, I do not know if they have his DNA or if anything was collected from Jared's assault. It would be awesome if they did. However, they couldn't do anything unless they tied him to the kidnapping. Sexual assault has a statute of limitations. Do they destroy evidence in cases where the statute of limitations has expired?"
I wonder if it would not be constructive to start a thread for those seeking to sleuth Paynesville.
