The body cams have been discussed in detail, policy explained and policy changes being put into place. I have more of a problem with the fact that they were answering a call for a possible sexual assault and approaching with cruiser top lights off and headlights off in order to not alert the possible rapist/assailant but do not switch the dash cam on. What LE officer respond to a call, take these precautions and not make sure their dash cam is in operation? This just doesn't jive for me. JMO. In fact the only official statement of the MPD union is that they do not have to have the cams on while in the car...only when they get out or go to a door. They stated they were NOT IN VIOLATION> and in fact today new rules were put in place. I believe they did say that in the very beginning not knowing much of anything and they should not have said it.
