Second victim, Harper Moyski, named.
Fletcher and Harper had most of their lives still ahead of them.

Am just so angry at the selfishness of the brutal violent act that stole them from their loved ones.
My condolences to Harper's family.

Rest in gentle peace, Harper !!!

i just saw this video with a former 7th grade classmate of westman's. it seems the mention of hitler could have been a red flag but not sure if such a red flag that it would predict a mass murderer. it aired yesterday/last night. the classmate's story begins around 1;30

sorry if it's already been shared.

Some people just like to do awful things. What could be more awful than shooting precious, innocent little children while they are praying. The killer was probably proud that they had done such an atrocious thing, but maybe their conscious kicked in.

the photos of these precious faces.... so heartbreaking.

it seems impossible to not be furiously angry at the murderous evil that inflicted so much pain and grief.

So I found an article that I just posted saying that the father and stepmother of the killer lives near the church. So perhaps the three residences that were searched include the killer's apartment, the father's home, and the Florida condo belonging to the mother? But that last residence/condo isn't nearby. In any event, the Director of the FBI, Kash Patel, has stated that they will provide more information as their investigation continues, so at some point we should no more.
I read that it was the father's house, RW's apartment and a third residence in that area. I figured a sibling might live in that area?? I also read that RW's car was searched. It was left in the church's parking lot. Other articles stated that the FBI was at RW's mother's home in Naples. What I don't know: If she wasn't there, did they go into her home? If so, how did they get in?

Too bad the Catholic Christian School didn't have an armed guard at the door.
I agree. We lived in Texas for 14 years and attended church there. I was surprised to hear that our church had an armed security team in place by all of the doors with earpieces to communicate with one another. Apparently, there have been shootings at other churches. I think that all churches should have at least one armed security. It doesn't have to be obvious to alarm the kids; however, the person should be alert and armed.

shooters uncle was a former kentucky state rep

A former Kentucky lawmaker is the uncle of a mass shooter who killed two children in a shooting at a Minneapolis Catholic school Wednesday morning. Bob Heleringer, a longtime Louisville member of the Kentucky House of Representatives, is the uncle of Robin Westman, 23, who opened fire at the church of Annunciation Catholic School.

I didn't say that the school carried blame.
I don't like to use the word blame here as this isn't the first time signs have been missed/overlooked and it won't be the last, but come on... There have been some serious failings somewhere. We've watched the YouTube videos, there's translations of the journals floating around - They were severely mentally ill and seemingly have been for a long time going from the journal dates. I am super interested in more about their mental health records and reports as I don't believe for a moment that this person wasn't exhibiting concerning behaviours to those around them. Somewhere, somehow there are significant failings.

People are looking for a motive here, blaming gender/sexuality/religion etc... it's fruitless. I don't believe from what has been released/leaked that there was A motive in this case. It's all a huge mishmash of incoherent and contradictory confused hatred spewed out from, imo, a very unwell and psychotic mind. A very unwell and psychotic mind that SHOULD have been picked up on and managed.

Heartbreaking and infuriating all round.

I think the shooter had self-loathing and wanted that self-assessment to be on display in a way that would disgust the world. imo

What is worse than what Lanza did at Sandy Hook who shot little kids at their elementary school? Killing little kids inside a church. This shooter upped the ante, competed with the worst and "won." imo

The shooter knew the entire world would find killing children at church disgusting and dispicable and people from all walks of life would recoil in loathing at the crime and at the perpetrator, proving, posthumously, the shooter was right to be self-loathing. imo

The disgusting display was important to the shooter, including the "nice" letter to the family telling them they didn't do anything wrong and apologizing for any trouble the killings cause. The shooter knew that would be public and it's a gross level of selfish manipulation.

This wasn't depression, in my non-qualified opinion, but pure hate for self and the world - the ultimate selfishness is to hate the entire world and kill children in a sanctuary.

Emphasis mine.
Agreed with entire post.

In that specific (bolded) area, LE will surely want to take an intense look, and may have uncomfortable questions ?
I.e.,
  • Who bought the weapons ?
  • Who paid for them, as guns --even used ones -- aren't cheap.
  • For how long did they know R.W. was becoming unhinged ?
  • Had they tried to warn LE but were rebuffed ?
That last point may work in the families' favor, imo.

I will not fault law enforcement either for digging deeply into this.
Two precious little lives are dead.
Murdered.
Their families in grief and maybe anger, and who can blame them ?
Imo.
Depends on the gun, you can pick several 9mm handguns for under $300 and some shotguns you can find for under the same price or on sale for under $200. The rifle could be the expensive one considering it was some sort of AR platform but you can find some of those for under $400.

What's interesting is that since he bought them lawfully, he had to get a permit for both the pistol and rifle which means he had to undergo a background check for both the permit and the purchase. But if he hadn't been committed for mental health or has committed a disqualifying crime, he would have no problem passing both

Minneapolis school shooter Robin Westman’s mother Mary Grace not cooperating with cops

Article says, "she has not contacted police — nor responded to their attempts to reach her, Minneapolis police announced at a press conference Thursday."

Minneapolis school shooter Robin Westman’s mother Mary Grace not cooperating with cops

I'm assuming that you can't "make" someone who has done nothing cooperate; can you? I would be afraid that if I didn't cooperate they would figure out a way to charge me with something. I just don't understand why she wouldn't want to at least talk to police. I can imagine that it will be hard to accept and face the ugly truth about RW.

My first reaction is she doesn't want the attention from media, including social media vultures, hounding her.

And, she might be absolutely unable to speak of this horror. I would understand that reaction. It might feel impossible to say the words aloud, let alone get dressed, think straight, and act functional after being dealt such a blow.

I hope she can gather some support around her and talk to LE without the media covering the event. LE does need some info and insight from her, imo. Maybe someone like a negotiator or mediator can ease the way to a conversation between LE and her.

I wonder if she is traveling to Minneapolis and not answering her phone at all due to reporters and others trying to contact her? She also lost a child, and I wonder if she checked herself in to a hospital or something like that? This was done at her previous job.

Little Fletcher and little Harper.

How unspeakable that they died at 8 and 10 years old at the hands of this maniac.

Wishing for strength and recovery for the other victims who were injured, and that solace will be found someday, somehow, for the families of Fletcher and Harper.

There are a number of LE and related agencies involved in the investigation. Is it possible the shooter's Mom has been interviewed by one or more of them unbeknownst to the local police?

maybe she's circling some legal wagons and will speak or not speak through lawyers.

she does have family members very familiar with the legal system.
