Maple Grove police say 18-year-old Winston Drepaul, who goes by "DeeDee" or "Dez", has not been seen in nearly a week.

Officers say he left his home on foot, without any possessions or medication in the early morning hours of March 23.

Hm. Even though there’s snow on the ground in the pics, that was a result of a snow earlier this week - this winter has been very mild. Maple Grove is a suburb of the Twin Cities, and you can see the “ice out” dates for lakes in the area here:

It looks like there’s ice on that pond, but it’s likely just very thin sheet.

Looks like they’re (MGPD) saying his jacket was found IN a pond near 80th and Lakeview. The pond was searched a bit, but will be more extensively searched tomorrow.

Pond in question is in a pretty busy part of MG. (Not seen in screenshot, but many shops/ strip malls/Costco etc nearby.)

I opened my map app to check, and the road (Lakeview) is closed, presumably for the search.

Winston wasn’t found during the extensive pond search Saturday, and no updates since then.

The update from MGPD mentions he was seen near the community center with a “duffle-type” bag.

Police say a body recovered from a pond Thursday afternoon in Maple Grove could be connected to a missing person case in the city.

In March, 18-year-old Winston Drepaul was reported missing in the same area. Volunteers searching for him later found a jacket that belonged to him in a retention pond.
