Considering the administration we have it's an 85% chance that's a lie.
They were labeling Renee Good as a domestic terrorist before we had barely even learned her full name. MOO.

Do you think that still justified the shooter firing a second and third shot through the open passenger door window AFTER he was well clear of the vehicle and the the perceived threat was gone?

To me, that's the equivalent of shooting someone in the back after they are in the process of running away and that's not self-defense, that's murder.
No, I do not think any possible second or third shots would have been justified. I also agree with your analogy that it equates to shooting somebody while fleeing.

But... given the fact that he had just responded to a deadly threat a second or two earlier (first shot was justified, in front of the vehicle, cant read her mind etc), I could not convict him of murder.

I could convict him of Manslaughter though. In the end, I officers need to be in control of their actions. But, few people have complete awareness in chaotic / violent situations.

You mean the attempted arrest by our border patrol agents of member (or members) of Tren de Aragua, a foreign terrorist organization? Or are you referring to another situation?
False. False. False. ICE has been terrorizing Portland for months, stalking children and families at school, stores, places of employment, kidnapping people off the streets. Now, they've shot two people.

Please can you tell me why you think an ICE officer who has previously been dragged by a car would stand in front of a car in a tense situation? Does he bare any responsibility for his own safety or the public's?
He was not standing in front of her car- until she started to turn towards him at a high rate of speed.

Our Roman law system guilt plus or minus, guilty or innocent. If we had the Napoleonic code which allows for a shared guilt concept, I would assign some to the officers and the victim (if she were not deceased)

Basically, I don't buy the various excuses for her behavior. She choose to put her self at risk by her actions.

In a news conference tonight, officials provided more details on the shooting incident in Portland, Oregon, that hospitalized a married couple.

Are members of Trwn de Argua typically married couples?

As the police chief said ..... the use of deadly force is justified at times, but that most law enforcement agencies in the U.S. are trained to minimize the risks and the need for deadly force.

"In any professional law enforcement agency in the country, I think they would tell you it's obviously very concerning whenever there's a shooting into a vehicle of someone who's not armed,"

We're not blind, the video is out there.

I hope it finds Jonathan Ross guilty and sentences him to a cold, dark cell for life.

Heartless.

A majority of the American voters identified illegal immigration as one of the top issues for them in the last election.

That is a very foggy statistic because only about 2/3 of the voting public actually voted, and only about 1/2 of that 2/3 voted for these policies. So, about 1/3 of the voting public gave their mandate for these actions. Link

imo

47% of Americans who voted for Trump is not the majority of the country. More people did not vote than cast a vote for him.
As I stated in my post, the majority of American voters voted for President Trump and one of their top issues was dealing with the open borders and illegal immigration crisis. That is simply a fact.

Just so I'm clear, you agree with ICE gunning citizens down or kidnapping people off the street? That's what you voted for?

And it’s that statistic in many years worth of fear mongering news cycles. Many people not having their material needs met have found solace in being given someone else to blame (instead of the crummy politicians or billionaires). I’d imagine it’s a more particularly salient boogeyman to blame for people who don’t even have undocumented neighbors to reference as living, breathing humans… moo

From a different witness...

Heller said she heard ICE agents telling the driver, a woman, to “get out of here.”

Thank you, and I have added further comments from the same witness below.

"A witness to Wednesday’s shooting in south Minneapolis told MPR News that she saw a federal agent shoot a woman several times.

Emily Heller lives near 33rd and Portland and said she woke up to a commotion outside her home. She said she saw a car blocking traffic on Portland Avenue that appeared to be part of a protest against federal law enforcement operations.

Heller said she heard ICE agents telling the driver, a woman, to “get out of here.”

“She was trying to turn around, and the ICE agent was in front of her car, and he pulled out a gun and put it right in — like, his midriff was on her bumper — and he reached across the hood of the car and shot her in the face like three, four times,” Heller said." "

www.mprnews.org/story/2026/01/07/shooting-south-minneapolis-ice-agents-federal-operation

"Emily Heller told CNN she was at home when she saw the ICE agents arguing with protesters outside. She said she heard agents shouting at a woman driving an SUV, then one agent tried to open her car door, and the driver went into reverse and began pulling away.

"An ICE agent stepped in front of her vehicle and said, 'Stop!' and then - I mean, she was already moving - and then, point blank, shot her through her windshield in the face," Heller told the US network."

"Heller said she saw a woman, since identified as 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good in a vehicle blocking a convoy of six or seven ICE vehicles on a one-way street.
“The ICE agents got out of their vehicles and were screaming at her to ‘move, move, move,’” Heller said. “She wasn’t moving at first, and then they came over to her side of the car and tried to open the door, I assume to drag her out.”
“She was obviously scared — she was going to leave,” Heller said. “She reversed a little bit and then started to move forward. And as she was starting to move forward, one of the ICE agents stood in front of her car, leaned across her hood and then fired three or four shots right into, it seemed like, her face.”

Whatever happened to that wall that Mexico was going to pay for to fix this “problem”?

I agree, but in some of our cities the local LE won't cooperate with our federal immigration officers who are there doing their jobs. If the local LE are not willing to be present at protests where federal agents are working, then the ICE agents have to protect themselves.

I suspect that more cops voted for Trump than not. And it may be so that most cops don't like what comes with illegal immigration.

However. The police was under so much fire several years ago, especially in Minnesota (and it was not for the first time, I still remember Flint), that I am not sure if it has recovered, tbh. Definitely not in Seattle. We all remember that time. They have enough problems. But, also, they can't cover their faces and they have to wear bodycams. Most of all, they are better trained on how to avoid escalation so they are trying to avoid it.
