by law she did not have to get out of the car. ICE does not have the legal authority to make traffic stops.
Quite some time?If she wasn’t trying to impede the agents she wouldn’t have been in that position. It doesn’t matter if you don’t like the law! You put your life on the line when you hit officers with your car, even if you are trying to flee after not following directions for quite some time. The women were harassing and interfering with operations for at least minutes maybe longer.
The agents had already driven past her, so the victim was obviously not impeding them.If she wasn’t trying to impede the agents she wouldn’t have been in that position. Very well said. Thank you.How are they "gestapo"? They are doing immigration enforcement. That is their job. To find illegal immigrants and detain them. It bothers me when people use hyperbolic terms like "gestapo" and "nazi". It really lessens the impact of these words.
There are steps to become a legal citizen or obtain a legal right to live in the US. If people don't want to go through the legal process of obtaining citizenship or refugee status/asylum it doesn't magically make them being here legal and fine.
And it doesn't make Law Enforcement or immigration officials the bad guys for enforcing the laws of the US.
I feel the same...
It's so frustrating.
I just don't understand how anyone can think this was a justified kill. It's beyond me. Even if Ross felt threatened, and if he did he should have been on high alert without his phone in one hand, there was no reason to shoot 4 or 4 times to someone's head.
The cruelty and callousness and inhumanity is mind boggling.
Why did ICE stop and go back to confront a bystander that they had already driven past? How is that immigration enforcement? How are they "gestapo"? They are doing immigration enforcement. That is their job. To find illegal immigrants and detain them.
And people who ARE doing it the right way are being detained when they show up for immigration hearings at courthouses. They are legally waiting for their green cards or asylum requests to go through the system, and are legally allowed to wait IN COUNTRY while this process occurs, as long as they show up to their hearings. But they are being detained and deported when they show up to their meetings. If they DON'T show up to their meetings, they are deportable, and somehow in this twisted world, they are deportable when they DO show up for their meetings. So saying they need to do it "the right way" and ending the conversation does not do justice to the reality of this year. How are they "gestapo"? They are doing immigration enforcement. She did not hit him (or anyone) with her car. He didn't even drop his phone or gun (was holding them both). He didn't fall down, he didn't even almost fall down. He called her an effinIt wasn’t warranted to hit the Officer with her car!
she was told to LEAVE.She was instructed to get out of the car!

Sorry I meant 3 or 4 times...You see...you have hit on a basic problem here.
IF Ross has been threatened, and IF officials of the Federal Police State attempted to discuss that he made errors, poor judgement, and even faced firing.
BUT NO.
The ways of the heads of the Federal Police State insist upon blaming the victim, accepting (rewarding) the killer instinct of shooting a woman in the head and face. ....
THAt is a real something.
People who will believe anything their leader says.
THIS is why I finally finally finally understand how the German people put up with what they did.
Not meant to be off topic, by the way, just trying to make a comparison to ICE, as our Federal Police State.
Ya know.... its not like they killed a criminal immigrant. So if the Federal Police State is allowed to do that, and it's all hunkey dorey... I just...well...I just think that's troublesome.
Yep. The Nuremburg Trials made it clear that "following orders" is not justification for war crimes or crimes against humanity. Highly recommend watching Justice at Nuremburg (1961) for anyone wondering about how the German people allowed Nazi Germany to happen. It does help illuminate some things. You see...you have hit on a basic problem here.

This is Portland Avenue between East 33rd and East 34th Street. It is a one way, but two lane road.I'm doing a Google maps walk, and it showing a one way street from 32nd to 34th street via Portland, and she was killed in that area.
This article also states that it is, indeed, a one way street.
IMO.

This a thousand times .Some people equate 'freedom' as them, personally having all the freedoms they want, and the sorts of people they dislike being marginalised, persecuted, or harmed. Their concept of equality is them on top with everyone else crushed underfoot, knowing their place. And a government offering that to them is a beautiful, seductive thing.
MOO
The woman in question ( the victim) and her wife - neither are illegal immigrants. How are they "gestapo"? They are doing immigration enforcement. That is their job. IMO there wasn't much build up. Videos start before the ICE agents drove by her. They drove by her then stopped, got out of their car, and walked back to confront her. This is Portland Avenue between East 33rd and East 34th Street. It is a one way, but two lane road.
The problem I have with all the videos that have been released in trying to understand this incident, is that they don't show the build up. How, exactly, did Renee Good's vehicle come to be straddling the carriageway?

Actually, there is now video of the over 3 min. before the shooting, taken from a window on a 2nd floor across the street. This is Portland Avenue between East 33rd and East 34th Street. It is a one way, but two lane road.
