Try not to barf when you read this "manifesto" as to why the shooter said he did what he did. I hate when this type of garbage sees the light of day. He was lonely, no friends, no girlfriends, as an excuse to kill as many people as possible. Thank God he was stopped before he could carry out his real purpose: to kill hundreds if he could have.

Before COVID, I visited a school on a military installation. Getting into the building with the picture&driver'slicense scan takes longer today than ID check at the gates of the military installation.

Some buildings have the signs explaining that teachers can use deadly force to protect students. Yes, I figure out who is carrying.

School security & LE responded well to this event, imho.

I haven't heard how he got in yet, unless it's been announced recently. They are keeping that info pretty close to the vest. Good reasons for that I would think. It is a very old building and he was a student there so I'm sure he knew the weaknesses. I'm hoping it's nothing more than that. Just like our healthcare and mental healthcare, our infrastructure and our school buildings, they are in dire need of major upgrades in our modern society.

Interesting article. Leaves me with a few questions. If it is the same gun, then whoever it was transferred to, should absolutely be charged as an accessory.

Another question I have is when the family had him committed, did he agree to it or was it involuntary? If it was involuntarily, that alone is a disqualifier when it comes to purchasing a weapon legally. If he bought the gun through an FFL licensed dealer, he would have had to do the background check and that is a question on the form. If he lied, then there's a breakdown somewhere in the system.

And I can't help but wonder, why did he remove the handguard from the barrel. Was he firing it one handed or using the magazine or mag well as a fore grip?

Many states appear to be more aggressive regarding gun possession & mental health than Missouri if you look at the chart I cite below. If this shooter had been committed to an institution at some point, shouldn't that have affected his right to own one? Of course, he still could have illegally obtained one & done the same harm.

One on the articles cited in this thread stated he bought the gun in a private sale. With a private sale, in Missouri, no background check is required. As far as how he got the gun back, I have no idea.

Forster's father tried to become his son's guardian after traumatic brain injury & subsequent hospitalizations. Instead, Trenton Forster turned 18, signed himself out of Lindbergh High School, stopped taking prescribed medication, and eventually murdered Officer Blake Snyder.
