Authorities found a woman dead in her home north of Springfield this weekend, and the woman's wheelchair-bound daughter was located Monday morning in another state

Gypsy Blancharde, who has several health issues, was located safe Monday morning. Deputies are now investigating Gypsy's mother's "violent" death after an anonymous Facebook poster took credit for the attack, according to Greene County Sheriff Jim Arnott.

Arnott also said a "person of interest" is in custody in another state.

Gypsy's mother, Claudinnea "Dee Dee" Blancharde, 48, was found "deceased of a violent nature" in the family's home Sunday afternoon on the 2100 block of North Volunteer Way, Arnott said. Gypsy was also missing at that time.

A Facebook poster has claimed responsibility for Dee Dee's death using vulgar language and without giving a name.

Friends and neighbors who saw the post on Dee Dee's Facebook account feared something might be wrong so they went to the family's house on Sunday. No one answered the door, so neighbors called 911.

During a morning press conference, Arnott said Dee Dee Blancharde is believed to have died more than 24 hours before her body was found.

Reporters asked Arnott if Gypsy is a suspect, to which he replied, "We're not ruling anything out."

Arnott said investigators had not yet determined a motive in the killing. Friends and neighbors said they can't imagine why anyone would want to harm the friendly mother who moved to Springfield from Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina.

Yeah, how the FB postings that the police were alerted to were written kinda felt off to me. I would think that someone as violent and hate-filled as the poster would have had a lot more to say if they were going to go out of their way to log into their victims' FB account and make a public post. To me it seems like the statements were posted with intention... like, for a reason beyond blind rage. I can't find ANY online presence for Gypsy aside from the profile she shares with her mother, can anyone else?

They had a joint Twitter account, but I don't think it was used much. I haven't checked other social media. I agree the posts sounded "off" (second one was more rage filled sounding). To be honest, I thought immediately they had lost their phone and a group of unruly young Tweens had it and thought it was a huge joke. I could picture them laughing and thinking it was funny, but harmless.

The girl is to disable to kill a fly. The guy probably had her phone for or account information for some time.

He probably did searches on ways to kill mom but made it look like she did the searches. The guy is crazy.

Does Gypsy have her phone with her?
I remember reading somewhere about a lost phone but it may have been on FB

I am not saying Gypsy is guilty of anything.

But you can't rule someone out as an accomplice or murderer because of strength

IMO anyone who hires a hitman /killer is a murderer even if they haven't touched the victim

Thank you @Steelman! I hadn't seen where the time of death for Dee Dee was mentioned. They say it was a violent death. But, the neighbor who went in through the window to check said that he didn't see anybody home or find anybody. When I think "violent death", I think blood and busted up furniture.

Another thought, the poi had a vehicle, because Dee Dee's was still at the house. Neighbors confirmed that right away

This is a girl who just dressed up as a Princess at Disney in the last couple years.
She doesn't really seem to be in the "teenage" frame of mind.
You never know I guess.

At a news conference on Monday morning, Arnott would not release details about the homicide, like where in the home the body was found or why the friends hadn't found her body on their initial search. Arnott said Dee Dee may have been dead from 24 to 72 hours before her body was found, according to a preliminary investigation. An autopsy on Monday afternoon will try to determine more information

Bzzzzzz......Bzzzzzzzzz...Bzzzzzzz---

Just to be a fly in the ointment...........I've seen quite a few of these cases where someone was being held captive or hostage and was rescued by police. In most of those cases, the news media shows up and films while the family members cry and hold each other and praise Jesus.

We're not seeing any of that here......are we ?

On June 15th, at approximately 2:45 a.m., the Greene County Sheriff’s Office in Missouri
requested a wellbeing check at an address in the Village of Big Bend. The Waukesha
County Sheriff’s Department responded to that location to check on a female that was
missing from their jurisdiction. She was possibly in the company of a male that resided in
Big Bend

This whole case has been very unusual and confusing IMO

"We can say with confidence that there is no lingering threat to the citizens of Greene County as it relates to this case," states Sheriff Arnott. "This appears to have been a targeted crime. Our Detectives were able to use a variety of sources including social media posts, emails and phone calls to successfully locate Gypsy

Okay. Green County MO called Wisconsin for a well being check in Big Bend, WI. So, after obtaining a search warrant and going through the house, computer, etc, they knew exactly where to look. (And what's amazing about that is they were THERE). So, that makes me consider seriously the possibility of a love story gone bad. It also tells me the poi isn't very smart. He/she left tracks and traces and went to the exact place they would be looked for. But, why post on the Facebook?!?! They had, so far, gotten away with it and who know how long they could have gotten away with it.

And 24-72 hours??? Once again, how did the neighbors not SMELL that when they searched the house. A violent death 24-72 hours old is going to be hard not to notice in a closed up house. I'm afraid this is going to be one of those horrific murders - like stored in the freezer or something. There's just no way you couldn't smell that!
