She might be still on anti-seizure meds while in jail.
Even if she doesn't need anti-seizure meds (which we don't know for sure), she would have to be weaned off these meds rather than stopping suddenly.
As for education, since she didn't actually go to school, and Dee Dee was supposedly home schooling her, who knows what her level actually is.

Good point. I didn't even think of this. I take an anti-seizure medication for bipolar disorder* - there are several that can be prescribed to treat mood disorders. I'm not sure what can happen if you don't need it, but some of the possible side effects include dizziness, clumsiness, bleeding gums, and changes in menstrual cycle.

Possible mental/emotional side effects (again not sure if these also apply to people who take them for seizures or for no reason) include anxiety, depression, paranoia, confusion, delusions, and dysphoria. Any one of those could mimic symptoms of the illnesses Gypsy had or supposedly had, and if they were altering her brain chemistry that could have affected her thought processes and behaviour.

And now I'm wondering if other medications she may have taken resulted symptoms of physical illnesses and/or affected her brain chemistry.

It will be interesting to see what happens if she stops taking her medications.

*I'm lucky I don't experience these side effects now, but the one I took earlier didn't work and resulted in several side effects I found unbearable.

So Gypsy must have had a credit card to order online? Did I read somewhere she would wear a disguise and go into town? Maybe a P.O. box? (Referring to S&M looking pictures, still learning!)

She doesn't have to take the stand.

That's true. It will be interesting to see if she takes the stand. My guess is that she will take the stand. JMO, but I think that she will trust her skills as a finely trained manipulator and deceiver to sway the judge and jury. I suspect that if she wants to establish herself as a victim of a terribly abusive mother, that she will need to take the stand.

Take the stand, or not? I guess it waits to be seen.

I think the opposite. While I do not think she is mature, I think her "normal" mode of communication with others is manipulation and deceit.

I don't think she knows what "honesty" means. This is not her fault - she was raised in a deceitful environment. She and her mother survived through conning others. I really don't think Gypsy knows HOW to recognize the truth.

And, I'm guessing that Gypsy assumes that everyone else is conning and manipulative too. Because of that, she will always be on guard in order for herself not to be conned.

It's a mess.

JMO.

I agree with the first part of your post but I think Gypsy views others in the vein of a sucker born every minute.
Think how exhilarating and powerful she must have felt after putting one over at such a young age on doctors and various agencies.
I wouldn't doubt it was a gigglefest for both Gypsy and her mother after pulling off a scam. IMO

She probably wasn't home schooled. It was probably a house with very few guidelines. A party every day.
Did anyone consider that Gypsy had more power over DB than the other way around?
All she had to do was make threats to tell in order to get what she wanted. IMO

Oh, ITA. I think Gypsy sees some people as suckers and other people as manipulators who will try to sucker her.

I think the way she sees the world would look like a fun-house mirror to the rest of us, distorted, unrealistic, and always changing.

It was said that she was seen (video) after the murder wearing a wig while shopping. There was a story from a neighbor that said she showed up at his door wanting a ride and at the time she was wearing a wig.
The neighbor event was before the murder.

She obviously knew to wear wigs when she ventured out on her own.

And you think that what she wanted was to sit in wheelchair, bald, toothless, with a feeding tube, wearing grandma clothes and huge glasses? From the time she was a little girl?

I think it's pretty obvious what she actually wanted (for years) was to get away from her mother.

Dee Dee would dress her in princess dresses and wigs and take her to conventions.

Her lawyer will guide her

When you're right ; you're right. Agree

I didn't post that she wanted any of those things. My post was in regard to what might have been happening inside the home out of the public eye.
Gypsy being a teen and wanting to assert her independence (normal for any teen) may have had more control over DB than some might think.
I seriously doubt Gypsy was wearing a wig and sitting in a wheel chair inside the home.

As for party every day, how would it be even possible for Gypsy to have a party? If any other children came over, she would have to stay in a wheelchair, she couldn't paly. She couldn't eat either, because she was on a feeding tube. It wouldn't be much of a party, even if Dee Dee allowed other children to come over.

She was an adult, nearly 24 years old, when Dee Dee was killed. Most adults that age were already able to assert their independence. Gypsy was stuck with mother, wheelchair and all. I don't think mother was ever going to let her meal ticket go. Because how would Dee Dee make a living with Gypsy gone?

I didn't mean an actual party with guests and party favors. It was a phrase. I meant as I posted that IMO there were very few guidelines in the home.
Kind of like a free for all with no rules.
Has it been confirmed that GB has a feeding tube?

She is 23 correct. My post was how it might have evolved with Gypsy in her teen yrs up to the age she is currently. With Gypsy wanting more freedom and DB trying to maintain control as a parent.Or insert your own terminology for parent. IMO

Her hair was pretty whacked looking. Maybe wearing a wig was simply a matter of wanting to look normal.

Wow. Are you serious? The medical deception started when she was younger than 8. What would an 8 year old find satisfying about lying to a doctor so she could be confined to a wheelchair and have a feeding tube placed?

"Yeah, mommy, we sure fooled them!! In a few more years I'll be bald and toothless and we'll get that trip to Disney you promised!"

Oddly enough in one day I saw two girls that looked about the same age as Gypsy with hair in the same cut as hers. Not saying I like it but some do have very short boyish haircuts.
