But how do we know that?
Just asking!
Sorry I just feel at this time she was a willing participant in all this.
Did NG come to rescue her with no intention of murdering anyone?
What bothered me was him asking her Do You want me to do this and she says yes!...
She took the money from the safe and wiped up HIS blood.
And off they went!

We know because she tried to run away several times, because she killed her mother to escape that life and because now she is growing her hair out.
She had fundraisers for all kinds of things, that Gypsy didn't have. And somewhere on here is the fundraising for her special feeding tube
Her hair looks to be growing out from being shaved.
From what Dee Dee was claiming, Gypsy supposedly had a history of leukemia. So presumably Gypsy had to keep her head shaved in order for people to believe she had leukemia.
That's what I think too. Gypsy spent 3 1/2 hours at the hospital two days before the murder. Judging from the amount of hair growth it probably wasn't related to the claim of leukemia, unless Gypsy was supposed to be between chemo treatments. I hope Dee Dee never managed to convince a doctor to actually order chemo for Gypsy - that would seal it for me.
I was just re-reading the early search warrants. Investigators said their information (presumably from the neighbors) was that Gypsy had "muscular disease that prevents her from walking, leukemia and she requires oxygen at night."
Interestingly, LE also reported (again, presumably from the neighbors) that Dee Dee had diabetes and OCD. If that's true I wonder how it impacted Dee Dee's relationship with Gypsy.
I may have to put in my signature that Gypsy was abused. I'm not sure why I'm still being told that "some" have no understanding of abuse when I have agreed in almost every post that Gypsy was indeed abused.
What DB did to Gypsy was unfair, and abusive and Gypsy did in fact suffer as a result.
Gypsy told the courts that she had a third grade education. Where do you think she heard that from? Gypsy will play this for all it's worth.
Just like her mother taught her.
No she isn't 23 like everyone else because we all have different experiences, but I'm sure she understands what murder is and that there is a penalty.IMO
Happy 4th gitana and all.
Yes, but I and many others really hope she does. I would like to hear the story from her perspective because after all thats what brought her to this dismal point.
Personally, with the facts we have so far, I hope this case never goes to trial. I'd like to see Gypsy offered a deal to spend a certain number of years in a mental facility undergoing treatment, with ongoing counseling and supervision after she is released, if necessary. IMO She is not insane, but has been severely damaged psychologically by the abuse she endured. Prison will not repair what was done to her. I'm not sure that a mental facility will either. JMO
Because Gypsy was trained to lie and manipulate, I can't imagine that she would change during a trial and tell "the whole truth." I think we possibly got a small taste of her training already in her response to the judge when he was displeased that she consulted with her attorney before answering a question. She responded that she has only a third grade education and is on anti-seizure meds in jail, both of which may be true. IIRC Gypsy went to public school through third grade, and maybe that's all she counts as "education." Or else she was completely homeschooled to an unknown level. But her rather bold response to the judge struck me as if she was trying to portray herself in court as having quite limited understanding. I could be very wrong, but it hit me as manipulative. Due to DB's training and their public appearances during the scam, Gypsy may have the ability to handle herself in a courtroom to her own advantage, without being intimidated by the surroundings or the charges she faces IMO. Time will tell.
I am in NO way minimizing the abuse Gypsy endured. Even if we disagree about the courtroom incident I described above, it seems realistic to recognize that that her abuse included training in successfully lying and manipulating others for her own ends. I think it is very possible that she could manipulate perceptions just sitting in court during a trial, without even testifying. That isn't something I want to see happen, especially if it leads to acquittal and no psychological help.
All JMO, MOO, Etc.
Edited for clarification.
We will likely be able to hear much of her story from people other than Gyspy- friends and mescal professionals who treated her today and in the past.
Good post.
I wanted to point out, though, that Gypsy, when asked by the court gnaw understood said "Yes." Then her lawyers whispered to her and that's when she said she had a third grade education. So it doesn't seem it was Gypsy's idea to try to manipulate the court.
Hi Kimlynn. I was specifically talking about an understanding of the effects of abuse. Some may realize Gypsy was abused but may not understand the effects such abuse can have on the psyche.
Sadly, I see the aftermath in my profession quite a bit.
So Gypsy must have had a credit card to order online? Did I read somewhere she would wear a disguise and go into town? Maybe a P.O. box? (Referring to S&M looking pictures, still learning!)
Oddly enough in one day I saw two girls that looked about the same age as Gypsy with hair in the same cut as hers. Not saying I like it but some do have very short boyish haircuts.
Hi gitana
I do understand the impact. I'm not putting everything that happened down to a result of abuse at this point.
That doesn't mean I lack understanding.
I'm waiting for more detail from reports and the investigation. IMO
Or, maybe the lawyers are be manipulated.
Just a thought....
Her boyfriend could've bought the clothes and mailed them. We know he knows how to use the mail. Or she could've snuck out and bought them with money she took from her mom.
If anyone can show me one photo of Gypsy with her own hair long, then there might be a possibility that her hacked short hair cut was a style choice and not the result of years of her mother shaving her head to look the part.
Her lawyer will guide her.
Im guessing that a 23 year old isolated by her mother for 15 years or so, who confessed in about ten seconds, is going to be hard pressed to be able to manipulate experienced criminal defense attorneys who have seen it all and dealt with every con in the book.
