Agree. Once they moved. Dee Dee decided to escalate things even further. Gypsy became a slave to Dee Dee.

The story I read came from the cousin of Gypsy and it was an insinuation that DB was doing something to make her stepmother sick. He said she prepared the meals and her stepmother was sick up until the time Dee Dee left and then she regained her health.
There was mention of DB only allowing Gypsy to eat certain foods because some foods made her sick.
This information did come from a blog posting and it was reported to be info from the cousin.
Maybe he added more regarding poisoning on another site. IMO

Scary! This story gets worse and worse! I saw his skype interview and I'm certain he said the mother fed the child poison to make her weak!

That's when he said Dee Dee started manipulating her daughter's health situation. She would soak and wrap her legs and made sure she stayed in her wheelchair. It was difficult to do, especially when Dee Dee wasn't around.

Pitre said, "I remember her pushing other kids around in the wheelchair, her other little cousins that were her same age."

Gypsy was nothing short of healthy. She bounced on a trampoline and walked just fine, just as she did during her first court appearance Tuesday in Wisconsin.

Plus it was stated that the mother was getting sick possibly due to poison or possibly stress from DEE Dee.

But once Dee Dee left. The mother got better. Dee Dee knew how to mix meds in people's food and drinks. Jmo.

Thanks for reposting that story, gitana. That's where it all started, with the Harley incident. IMO MOO.
DB insisting GR was more injured than a scrape on the leg.

BTW, me and DH have laid the Harley over several times, always doing 5-10 MPH. Wobbly. Never been injured. Scrapes yes, if not dressed appropriately.

Anyways, this bike story just baffles me. Poor girl. SMH.

It sounds to me (JMOO) that at first DD was living off her family but when she scammed them using credit cards, they disowned her. It was at that point she played up GB's maladies and sought welfare. At some point that wasn't enough for her and she got full disability for GB and as the guardian had full control over the finances. This would continue until the age of 18 unless GB was not mentally able to care for herself (i.e. low IQ). So naturally - she was also low I.Q. according to DD. . . putting her in complete control of every cent coming in.

Here was a quote from the cousin that stood out to me: (BBM)

"I figured it was a ticking time bomb, that one day, Gypsy might, you know, come to realize her mom was abusing her this way," he said.

This wording drives home the fact that GB was not aware that her mother was being abusive.

I don't think she was going to let her meal ticket to just leave.

Was the mother family of Gaelic/gypsy descent? There are always news stories about "Irish travelers" or gypsies that engage in fraud and theft. I can't help but wonder if perhaps Dee Dee learned this, behavior because maybe that's what her parents did?

It is common for irish travellets to suffer from galactosemia, due to genetics.

Her sister has a clearly Cajun accent. They are not Irish travelers, that's for sure, who, by the way, have zero Gypsy blood. They don't look like regular Gypsies to me at all. And Gypsies don't scam by making their kids sick.

Yet she describes the same thing Gypsy's cousin described. Gypsy playing when mother wasn't around, but becoming "paralyzed" when mother showed up. I am not sure how that qualifies as keeping deception hidden from the family.

My guess is that they don't want people to blame them for not reporting Dee Dee. But if they observed Gypsy playing when mother was not around, and then acting paralyzed when mother showed up, how could they not know something was up?

Pitre — who lives in Larose, Louisiana — said when family members started confronting Dee Dee about her treatment of Gypsy, the mother stopped communicating with the family. Pitre said he has not talked with Dee Dee or Gypsy for the past 15 years. "It was basically all a fraud," Pitre said. "I was so disgusted with the woman. I could not believe what she was doing."

Apparently, they knew what was happening then. Did they call the authorities?

BBM my friend is a caregiver to a disabled child, she has turned the mother in to every agency that she can and nothing is done on the abuse/neglect this mother does to this child. This mother is on welfare and has a normal child at age 14 still uses a diaper.............it is a joke anymore about 'authorities' atleast in PA

My child is 13 yrs and requires a diaper.
It isn't a joke.
We had a well meaning person ask CYS to come check on things.
Very embarrassing for my son, and the CYS worker.
I was just miffed and angry.
Incontinence is a manifestation of his disability.
There is no 13 year old that would use a diaper without it being a necessity. It is a heck of a lot of work for the parent too. The mess is very real.
