The Pulaski County sheriff's office says a local photographer made a "grim discovery" yesterday afternoon when she stumbled upon skeletal remains just south of Dixon.

A search of missing persons in Pulaski County reveals that there are currently four people missing in that county, according to the sheriff's website.

Dixon is not very far at all from Ft. Leonard Wood military base. Military families often settle in the smaller towns surrounding the base.

Yeah, I think Kara is too old. By pre-teen I assume less than 13.

I looked through NamUs for kids aged 8 - 14, missing within the past 5 years from states neighboring Missouri. 9 people came up. I've also included the amount of time it'd take to get from the place they went missing to where the UID was found.

I doubt the UID is either of them, though, since only one skeleton was found and authorities in Chloie and Christopher's case say that foul play is not suspected (the house burned down and it's possible that their remains just weren't found in the wreckage).

I wouldn't discount based on distance alone. Adoptive parents could have re-homed Erica with any old creep known to mankind. Could have met someone in Ashville and handed her off to someone from MO. JMO

Good question! I've read about Erica, but haven't ever looked too in depth into her case. I need to read up a little more on her.

Still comparing these. Why are a lot of these not on NCMEC? I haven't looked at all of them, but for sure Marianna Peevy (according to another poster, she is home though), Mateo Elizar and Michael McGlothin are not on NCMEC. I'm still looking at the others.

From what I understand, the remains had been there at least 1 year and up to 5 years simply based on the tree growth in that area. I'm not sure exactly what that means, but an forensic anthropologist from St. Louis has been called in on the site since day 1.

I reshared over on the Erica Parson's thread. Erica had a brother that was in the military in 2011 at Ft. Bragg. Getting caught up on Erica's threads to try to piece her case together.

With the military base right there, the remains could literally be from anywhere.

How long does it take to get DNA results back if they can still get DNA from the remains?
