honestly, what I've seen so far of hers isn't that troubling (except perhaps it might be with hindsight, esp. to her family if it turns out she's involved)

what really bothers me is the pics I've seen of her brothers - they look IDK very disturbed to me - just dark pics & strange stares on their faces ...

kinda creeped me out

I guess the thing that intrigues me about her twitter posts is that she seemed to post them for herself and possibly 1 other person. She only has 2 people "following" her on twitter- 1 lives in another country and the other is possibly a 16 yearold boy who possibly lives about an hour away from her in MO. Maybe she was trying to call out for help from him.

I at first thought the whole meth thing was linked. However, it's so common around here that sooo many peeps are involved that you can't assume a link.

O/T (kinda)

before this thread gets too long, I just wanted to say you are all such good sleuthers - it's been interesting seeing the search methods you've used and the theories you've posted and the collective coming together tonight

:applause:

Not all! I sadly admit after 1 yr & over 1,500 posts I'm still a stinky sleuther..I'm afraid it's hopeless at this point which is why I so admire the majority who are so good!

I'm off now to follow the crumbs so I can find out what the heck is going on in this tragic case..Wish me luck!

maybe ... I haven't looked at her twitter ... just what you've posted here
I find myself hoping she's not involved ... her life has already been so tragic

If my subtraction is correct then MB was 16 when she had AB? Wonder if there was drug use during the pregnancy.

Question for the legal eagles.....how much of AB's past (if it is indeed AB) is taken into consideration re being charged as an adult?

Or is that irrelevant at this time? Does the minor's lawyer argue against being charged as an adult?

TIA

Don't feel bad it took me about half an hr to an hr to go through post and try to find names. I am not that great either, but once i found it I was all excited that I did it right...GOOD LUCK

I am not a legal eagle, but I am pretty sure the defense will use her past to it's full advantage. I think if the crime was premeditated and carried out as planned it should be charged as an adult. Thats just my opinion. She knew right from wrong and from the charges this more then likely wasn't a accident.

IDK - for me they're too young but I guess there's no age barriers these days ...

in jr high here they are called EMO which stands for emotional disturbed. It's amazing the parents let their kids dye their hair and wear all black. I walk through the school and wonder whose is in control the kids or the parents?

Thank you, Dani_md, but think my questions weren't clear.....was wondering if the decision re charge as an adult was a debatable one or if the State petitions the court and a Judge renders a decision based solely on the circumstances of the crime.

Sorry.....not sure that is any clearer.

sometimes kids go through phases and it's better to just let them express themselves and hope it passes. There are too many kids who obssess over the abercrombie and Hollister. Maybe these kids just want to be different and have their own style. I dress my daughter now because she is a baby, but when she gets older I will let her dress as she pleases (as long as it's not revealing and over the top). That way she can be herself instead of how someone else thinks she should be. Here there are a lot of EMO kids, but it doesn't mean they live up to the name. All the skater kids dress like that because it's their style. Black shirts, black hoodies, black skinny jeans, and black Vans shoes. Some have long hair and some have short.

um, well that's not what it stands for here ...

I know what emo is - just sayin' 11 seems young to me to be involved in anything but sports etc. but like I said, they're doing everything young these days

My child went through the goth phase when she was 15 (she's now 21). I have to agree with you, judging by the pictures and twitter comments, this is more Emo and not Goth. Goth is more about a look where emo is more about an attitude. Emo has become popular amongst kids in the internet community. There are some cartoons that are based off of Emo. They are called "Pon and Zi" and are very popular and sometimes disturbing.

ASSuming that AB is the suspect in custody:

I think that the motive here has something to do with the cell phone. There seems to be a new phenomenon where kids become violent after having their cell phones (video games) taken way. Just recently, my boss was telling me about an incident where a teen hit her mother in the head with a hammer for taking her cell phone away.

Here's an interesting article about teens reacting to losing their cell phones: http://www.noonehastodietomorrow.com/tech/the-internets/800-800

On Monday, October 19, AB updated her myspace status to this:

grounded from my phone fer two effin weeks. can i convince my gparents for a party? maybe.Mood: chill chillPosted at 5:57 PM Oct 19

This post shows up on Twitter by AB on Wednesday
# sittin in classss. bored as f---. i miss my cell phone :,[6:45 AM Oct 21st from web

Elizabeth goes missing that evening.
--------------

I am curious if Elizabeth went to this home every day after school and if something happened on Monday where maybe Elizabeth told on AB, resulting in her losing her phone.

A 2nd theory might be that AB wanted to borrow Elizabeth's phone (not just to use it once) but keep it for a period of time.

I am convinced that this has something to do with the cell phone being taken away. That is, if AB is the suspect in custody.

Searching through MS, there is defenitly a connection w/ her being on friends lists of kids that call themselves EMO.
