MO - Furious Friends Demand Answers After 3 Men Found Dead at Kansas City Home Days After Watching Football Game, January 2024 #4

Has JW ever disputed the claim that he as well as the three deceased were alive and awake when the fifth person left. JW has changed parts of his story several times but I don't see anything malign about that. He was probably wasted and asking him to provide a timeline means you're going to get someone second guessing themselves in an effort to provide a better timeline. Whereas the fifth visitor immediately went in to attack mode and CYA mode as to who provided the drugs suggesting that JW was the school's drug supplier. That has never been verified. The fact that the fifth guest got a criminal defense lawyer and has several drug offences under his belt suggests that perhaps no one was doing any kind of drug that was laced with fentanyl until he showed up on the scene. I don't believe the families of the deceased who said their loved ones didn't do drugs and it was a terrible coincidence that the first time they did it was a fatal batch of drugs. I'm not buying it.

Any use of street drugs can become deadly, even using drugs “socially.”

as a person with overwhelming anxiety, i cannot understand putting something from the streets in your body. i think my heart would explode and i'd die. i understand prescription addiction/alcohol addiction because you know what's in it. anyway, i wonder if these people took the new pink cocaine stuff that's killing lots of people in their 20s and 30s

My thought go to the three KC men that did not expect to pass away so young. Posting this also as a reminder that these type of cases are prosecuted more often than some may realize. They knew it was fentanyl pills they were dealing and continued to deal after this man died. Both these men face up to 15 years-to-life in state prison.

I don't follow sports as much as some do, but Junior Seau was a legendary football linebacker, and a celebrity around San Diego county before his death. So, this arrest of his nephew is making the news big time around here.

On Tuesday, San Diego County District Attorney Summer Stephan announced murder and conspiracy charges against Sheri Cavanaugh, 59, and Micah Seau, 31, for allegedly selling fentanyl pills to a 31-year-old man who died after an overdose in Pacific Beach.
[...]

“These defendants were aware of the dangers of the illegal drugs they were selling and in a callous indifference to the victim’s overdose death, conspired to continue dealing this poison in our communities,” said Stephan.
wish my loved one's case would be prosecuted. they threw him away like trash because he had a "history of drug abuse" so therefore he apparently deserved no help or investigation despite suspicious circumstances/the person dealing KNOWING it was fentanyl and my loved one not knowing that. it's hard to get these cases prosecuted without confession or video / photo evidence.

I know several very smart very successful people who have no problem snorting street cocaine. Don't believe the hype about pink cocaine it's fentanyl that's killing people still.

(From left to right): The three men who died have been identified as David Harrington, 37;...

The Platte County Prosecutor’s office said the case remains under investigation, but declined a request for a statement about where the investigation stands or when toxicology results will be released

I hope they are investigating the 5th person. For all the shade he threw on JW right off the bat when he knew his friends took drugs.

I didn't realize the tox reports still have not been released ?

The families need answers.

The reports haven't been released publicly but shortly after the deaths (around the beginning of Feb) families were told THC, cocaine, & fentanyl was found. The level of fentanyl was supposedly very high according to family members (3 x the lethal limit)

Does anyone know if the person who has inadvertently taken fentanyl is aware as they slip away. With THC, cocaine and fentanyl in their tox, I would imagine they meant to take the THC and cocaine but not the fentanyl. THC and cocaine are not unusual weekend warrior, watching the ballgame, kinds of drugs but I don't think fentanyl would be part of that. So, I guess what I'm asking is, do you smoke your joint and snort your fentanyl laced cocaine and then collapse or do you feel it coming and realize something bad has happened?

I think maybe they felt it coming, the sedation, and went outside to let the cold make them more alert. I don't think they started out there. Sitting around outside is not a typical place for casually using cocaine, as a breeze could blow it all away.

Not sure where I'm going with this. Just some early morning musings.

I had considered maybe they stepped outside to smoke cigarettes or maybe even weed. Idk if any were smokers or being considerate to take whatever outside. I don’t think these guys knowingly did anything laced with fentanyl. Heartbreaking all the way around.

When someone overdoses on fentanyl it happens very quickly. Often the needle is still in their arm.

"We do not know why the investigation has taken so long or why they will not publicly announce that (my client) is not a suspect," Picerno, who said he also does not know how the men died, told USA TODAY Tuesday. "They (police and prosecutors) are refusing to comment. It’s heartbreaking for all involved. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with the friends and families of the victims."

They are prosecuting fentanyl deaths pretty aggressively in my area and I think it’s always been due to evidence found in text exchanges. Except for one on Snapchat that they were able to recover after a subpoena (because they disappear on the user’s phone). I hope aggressively prosecuting the dealers leads to fewer deaths, but who knows? Jmo

If a person died with a needle in their arm, it was probably not necessarily an overdose, but instead an anaphylactic reaction to something the drug(s) was/were cut with. Carfentanil, a veterinary drug used legitimately in large animals, can, however, kill that quickly.

CoD and MoD.

@imstilla.grandma Thx for your post w link to USAToday.

Per Jan. 14 article, David Harrington's stepmother Theresa Harrington said in Feb.: "If drugs were involved, there is more to the story."

IIRC a relative of one of the deceased men said that families were told by (LE or Prosecutor, I forget which) that autopsy report tox test results showed drugs in remains that were three times the lethal level. Seems to clinch CoD imo.
Of course it's possible that the CoD could be something other than fentanyl & the other drugs, but that's a stretch imo.

If those drugs were the CoD, still leaves open the MoD, at least to gen public ATM.

Ms H said:
“David wasn’t a drug addict, or anything like that. He didn't take the drugs to get dead."
Seems she ruled out or at least doubted suicide as a possible MoD. A suicide in that circumstance is difficult to imagine for me too, w two other deaths occurring virtually simultaneously and mere feet away.

She also said:
"If he took the drugs on his own, he took them to get high."
Apparently acknowledging that he may have wanted to get high on drugs?

Agreeing that there MAY be something more to the story.

Is it possible that so far LE's investigation has identified one of the three deceased men as the person who secured the drugs, ingested some himself and provided the drugs to the other two?
If so, until LE identifies that man's source and develops sufficient evidence to arrest that source, I doubt LE will publicly release any news or even disclose that to surviving family members of the deceased.

Hoping LE can identify the drug provider and that the provider is appropriately prosecuted.

“I mean, they may be saying they are not hearing from us as far as the investigation and the details, we can’t give them that either,” Tanya Faherty with the Platte County Prosecutor’s Office said.

Up until now, the prosecutor’s office had not gone on camera about this case. The families allege prosecutors haven’t spoken to them since the end of January of last year.

@imstilla.grandma Thanks for the Jan 15 update & link.

KCPD hopes to "have an update for EVERYONE by the end of the week." (my CAPS)
An arrest perhaps? I wonder.
