So true. I think it is laughable tow watch some of the carrying on some of these people do to try to make it look like the police are "roughing them up" (remember the grimace???) some of them remind me of the great Dennis Rodman's amusing techniques for drawing a foul. You'd see that multi-cored head of his bouncing all over, long arms and legs flailing all over the place. That's what these people do she screaming "record it." I especially enjoyed watching the one woman twisting and comforting her body while the LEO was trying to cuff her and screaming "he's twisting my ARM!!!!" Ummm...no ma'am. Actually YOU are twisting your ARM and YES we did get it on video! LOL!!

I know. And the one guy that looked right into the camera and said " the cop grabbed my shoulder and pulled me by the arm, twisting it behind me...."

Umm yes, basic arrest procedure.

Reading through that, it would almost be easier & shorter to list the offenses the protesters haven't violated vs. the ones they have. They've violated most of those.

Loud noise, offensive language addressed in a face-to-face manner to a specific individual, threatening to commit a criminal act against any person, unreasonably and physically obstructing vehicular or pedestrian traffic, unreasonably and physically obstructing free ingress or egress to or from a public or private place, unlawful assembly, rioting, refusal to disperse, loitering, curfew for persons under 18..... it just goes on and on.

How about this one?
Any person, while in a public place, who utters in a loud, abusive or threatening manner, any obscene words, epithets or similar abusive language. Words merely causing displeasure or annoyance are not prohibited.

IMO, many of the threats, as well as the death chants, qualify as "obscene words, epithets or similar abusive language."

OMG, I love it! They've actually given LE all the proof they need by recording themselves :hilarious:

All those nights I listened to them threaten the officers and the officers family members, it upset me so much. But the higher ups were watching, recording and taking notes, gathering up all the evidence they needed to make sure subsequent arrests were above reproach!

It makes me glad that all the verbal abuse that those officers took was not in vain. It has helped to seal the fate of those 'protesters'

Great job FPD, et al!

The new #Ferguson Police Station wall & window has created an outdoor lobby for the public. Weeks ago it was a door.

eta: So the FPD made an outdoor lobby so they dont have to let everyone inside for simple interactions. Very interesting considering some of the 'ideas' I heard on the lifestream. They must have heard the same plans I heard. lol

Is it just me or is it odd to send out a press release to say the media can't go to something?

I'm a huge believer in allowing press to cover events. Having said that, I'm a bigger fan of not allowing them at these meetings. Without the media there, only the serious will show up. There won't be as much grandstanding. Keeps the likes of Shahid out. Keeps the livestreamers out. Allows actual progress to be made.

The City officers have been out there as back up quite often. They are treated with scorn as well.

I am not sure how this new procedure will work. I assume the protestors will continue to congregate at the FPD station. So the city cops will have to travel there. And if there is a surge and they need back up, who else but FPD to do so? So I think it is going to be the same cops but the billing will be different. The St Louis division will foot the bill. But I don't think the situation will be much different.

Ok, now I'm getting confused. I thought it was being handed over to the County PD. St. Louis City is taking charge now? I'm thinking Sonjay's reference to Cty. meant County not City. Could be wrong.

Aren't connections great :happydance: But I wonder why the other 2 arrested don't have any people calling in favors for them

I hope they thank their lucky stars and stay home or learn how to peacefully protest.

From the looks on the faces of a couple of the arrested protesters in pictures posted earlier, I'd say a few are having some "aha" moments. Hope so, anyway.

Why are they bothering to make arrests if they are letting these people out without bonds???

Puts an end to that nights demonstrating, that's why.

Belmar says protesters will notice more "transparency" from cops. Says just bc there's an ordinance they can enforce doesn't mean they shld
...If it could infringe on 1st amendment rights #ferguson

oHOH , sounds like Belmar is going to give them lost of leeway.

My guess is, and it's just a guess, there was more meat to their charges or they're more serious.

At least one of them was also arrested last week. So that might have had an effect as well.

I hear ya  But at least FPD has made their point, LOUD and CLEAR. I'm thinking we won't have to worry about this group of 'protesters' acting up again.

Aww. I just realized they're not going to have much fun during the Oct 10-13 thiingy that they have been planning

And the charges are still standing, are they not? So...heavier penalties for folks breaking the law with outstanding charges? Hmmm. I think I'd be packing up my hula hoops and going home.

I predict they will all be right back there tonight, same as before. I have heard some of them on livestream, bragging about being arrested 10, 15, 2o times before. So this is no biggie. Just a misdemeanor.

Will they have a court date?

That seems to say it's St Louis County PD stepping up, not St. Louis City PD. St. Louis City PD is 1/3 AA with the population ~1/2 AA. St Louis County PD is 10% AA with a population 25% AA. I wish St. Louis City's more diverse force were more of a presence in Ferguson.

The whole St. Louis city/StL County/North City/North County/East St. Louis, etc., is very confusing to me.

It can be very confusing. St. Louis City is an entity of its own. It's not in a County or a part of anything else. It is the part most people think of when they talk about St. Louis. Within the City, people will reference neighborhoods or areas, so there's reference to North City, South City along with other areas like The Hill, Soulard and so forth.

East St. Louis is in Illinois so as far as this thread you can ignore any references to it.

On the Missouri side, the area surrounding the City of St. Louis is all St. Louis County. It is made up of countless municipalities like Ferguson and unincorporated sections of St. Louis County. As with the City, people that live here commonly refer to themselves as either from north county, south county or west county, so there is no separate entity known as north county, it's just the part of St. Louis County to the north.

Yes, I meant Cty to mean county. It's the county taking over.
