I don't think it can be a bad thing for this GJ to have seen Wilson choose to testify before them regarding the officer involved shooting when he could have declined, then to hear him speak as someone who protected the community from a purported drug dealer.

Well, here's some more information about the attorney we now know is representing Wilson.
http://www.mlklaw.com/attorney-profiles/james-p-towey-jr/

Given Towey's statement that Wilson may speak, do you guys think he'll do a media interview before the GJ ruling, or release a statement, or wait?

imo he's done reasonably well be laying low/keeping quiet. just trying to figure out what he's got to gain by doing an interview? it'll probably be shredded apart & may cause more destruction to ferguson = so i'd prefer to wait for the g/jury findings.

thanks for all the links - gotta go find out how aclu did today.

i think it enhances his credibility & shows the g/jury how they'll lie at the drop of a dime.

Brooks won't appear before the GJ, just his case will and ODW... unless he is called of course. jmo

If called, he'll plead the 5th.

I do not think this is what the defense attorney anticipated. He knew OW would not be there because the protestors would have been quite aware that OW was there because of Brooks. At least that was what I got from the article. So the Grand Jury will get to decide if Officer Wilson "roughed" Mr. Brooks up, as he claims. jmo

There was a ton of news today, with helpful tidbits, like this about the 8 protestors arrested last night.

They were charged with failing to disperse and resisting arrest.

According to a Ferguson police official, that crowd would not leave South Florissant Road.

Those arrested were taken to the St. Ann jail for processing because the Ferguson Police Department jail is still under construction.

http://fox2now.com/2014/09/29/8-protesters-arrested-outside-of-ferguson-police-dept/

So, the protestors being shipped to St Ann was not a conspiracy, but due to construction.

I wouldn't imagine they anticipated this. It was set for a preliminary hearing today. I'm sure they anticipated a preliminary hearing happening as schedule. Not just that protesters would be there, but I believe the defense attorney would have had the chance to cross examine OW at a preliminary hearing. No way in heck was McCulloch gonna let that happen. How many questions in before it turned to the MB shooting and questions of excessive force? From a legal point of view, smart move by McCulloch.

“They’re not going to be looting next time,” said Kevin Seltzer, 30, who lives at an apartment complex near where Brown, 18, was shot. “They’re going to burn the city down.”

Far from finding peace after a round of summer protests and riots, Ferguson remains a city on the brink, its nearly every step troubled. The last week has been especially fraught.

Earlier in the day, at Prime Time Barber Shop, barber Tommy Bradley worried that further protests would erupt after the grand jury issued its findings. Sunday’s demonstration was “pure anger,” he said.

Yet Emya McCrady, 23, a stay-at-home mom who lives in the Canfield Green apartment complex with her 4-year-old son, said she wouldn’t feel secure without a massive police presence when the grand jury decided.

More at link with all the articles I post. So, some Ferguson businesses and even Canfield Green residents fear what could happen once the decision comes in.

It's sad to see the protestors say those arrested are being kidnapped or held hostage in a van, so I hope they notice the info abt the reason for transport.

Guys, from what LambChop has said, this is our new general discussion thread. It's ok to post, lol.

Beauty Town has an elaborate video surveillance system that displays 16 angles of the store, but the cameras are better at capturing crime than at preventing it.

For the rest, he’s bought a gun. Just in case.

I think there was another incident yesterday at Beauty Town. They've been hit so many times. I almost hope somehow biz owners are given a heads up before the decision is announced so they have time to lock up and evacuate.

Let me explain the title change as I know you have questions.

The last string of threads was getting too long. There will be a decision from the Grand Jury soon. There were 33 different articles posted in the Media thread today, posted by Klood-N and a thank you very much for that. This gives us a lot of material for discussion. This thread is for everything that is released through MSM right up to the Grand Jury decision and beyond.

We have said numerous times that race is not an issue in this case because the evidence does not show that. We are not going to make it an issue. It is just the same as any other case we are posting about in terms of discussion. If the protestors are making news then we can discuss what is happening, just stay away from getting personal in your remarks. Protestors have a right to protest and are guaranteed that right under the law.

Politics is also off limits unless it is specific to the case in terms of being newsworthy. Personal comments regarding political figures will not be tolerated. Just let it go. The facts are more important. May require you all to do some really creative writing. But let's see how it goes.

I hear you. I've almost been tempted to join twitter just to say to one or two that the world doesn't hate them. It breaks my heart that's what they've been told. I don't think they're in a place to hear right now, but hope they get there.

I think the Ferguson TownHall is tomorrow, but there could be something else tonight.
