Did you hear that sound? That was the sound of every law abiding resident calling their real estate agent. If they haven't left by now they will now. If I saw this happening to my community I'd sell my house for a loss. Or literally abandon it.

I will also be the first to say telling someone to get out of the street is complete BS. Not that that has anything to do with this case. And yes, I know, others disagree. Here, there isn't a day that goes by where kids aren't walking down the street, oftentimes right in front of cops on their way to school, and are never told to get out of the street.

Ah. True. I neglected to include how using the term "jaywalking" also works as a rhetorical device to paint ODW as an unreasonable officer. ;)

(I'd edit my post, but I think everyone already understands the deal.)

I hope the Council stays there until everyone has had a chance to speak, no matter how long it takes. The camera peeps should have been relegated to a space on the perimeter, not blocking attendees views of what's being said imo.

Are those the same juvenile records that Brown et al claimed didn't even exist?

You mean like this?

He did not have a criminal record as an adult, and his family said he never got in trouble with the law as a juvenile, either.

Michael Brown’s mother, Lesley McSpadden, said she never experienced any tension with the Ferguson Police Department.

Her son, who was shot and killed by a Ferguson police officer, was never in trouble with the police and did not have any negative interaction with police in Ferguson.

They tried to walk that back once the journalists tried to obtain it.

Gray argued that even if Brown did have a minor juvenile record for something like truancy, it has nothing to do with whether Officer Darren Wilson acted with excessive force.

If I remember correctly, Chuck Johnson even offered them a form to sign stating there was no record and he'd stop the action. No dice.

As a matter of fact, yes! That's exactly what I was talking about

The woman complaining about getting the "runaround"
Really????
Seriously?
What has she been doing the last 35 years there raising her sons,
I deal with the "runaround" at least weekly. It's not a Ferguson problem lady...it's everywhere! SIT DOWN!

I would be asked to leave ( & rightfully so) a Council meeting in my city for saying some of the things I am hearing. Saying "Sir" or "Mam" at the end of a threat does not make the statement less of a threat.

If you'd like, you can add this quote to the record. :) You've done a great and helpful job keeping these things together for us! :thanks:

CUOMO: First, what that Michael Brown past as a juvenile? There's speculation that, oh, it's inaccurate to say that there's nothing there. It's only as an adult there's nothing there. Is there any truth to that, that he had altercations or any kind of record as a juvenile?

PARKS: Let me say -- I'll say this, Chris. He was a typical kid. He may have had some situations that may have occurred as a juvenile, but, you know, we need not to be at a point where we start to blame the victim for what he did.
I think this officer's background is the one in question, because his actions are the ones that took Michael Brown's life.
