that meeting reminded of The Cosby Show ep when Dad sat Theo down and, using monopoly money, showed him just how far his lack of knowledge and common sense would(n't) take him in the real world of responsibility and accountability. way too many of these folks appear to have an inflated sense of their importance and nothing to back it up. all hat and no cattle comes to mind. it boggles my mind that they have decided the new agenda is about their lives and futures being ruled and determined by driving without registration and insurance, warrants, fines, fees, positive drug tests and negative background checks. "nothin' up my sleeve." and then, to further insult my intelligence, they refuse to see and admit that every bit of that relates to how they choose to conduct themselves and how they choose to raise the next generation(s). I have zero sympathy for a majority demographic that complains to high heaven while not trying to improve their community by getting involved and organizing and voting. I have had it Up To Here with the old, tired, worn-out platitudes re injustice(s). evidently the Victim Card is a precious possession which needs to be tightly gripped because the alternative requires morals, standards, ethics, effort and fortitude. the mindset evidenced by the criminally inclined in F'son is Not what the Freedom Riders and numerous other heroes in the civil rights movement had in mind when they put their lives on the line by standing up for things which were necessary, valid and long overdue. James Chaney (black), Andrew Goodman (white) and Michael Schwerner (white) must be spinning in their graves. I wonder how many or how few in F'son even know about or remember those brave men? pffftt!

On Memorial Day in 1964, Schwerner and Chaney spoke to the congregation at Mount Zion Methodist Church in Longdale, Mississippi; their speech was about setting up a Freedom School. Schwerner implored them to register to vote, saying, "you have been slaves too long, we can help you help yourselves".
