No one was applying there in the first place. Unless they couldn't get a job anywhere else first. Part of the problem to begin with. Somehow, there has to be a way of either paying more to LE or just hand it over to the County.

Since Ferguson is getting less revenue from offense amnesty I think County may take it over. Then what, raise property taxes or local tax to pay for it? I don't think they have a clue what cost this is going to come at. Not to mention cost of damages and LE OT to date.

Actually I think the majority are mad, sad, have anger and grief, and want to be heard. The court system as you spoke of is a long long road to any kind of change when dealing with law enforcement.

I haven't seen any valid reason that police need to "change." There was no racial profiling in Wilson's stop of Brown and Johnson. None.

So, wait, who is actually making these arrests? SL county or highway patrol or??

Looked like multiple agencies to me.

On the live stream I see about a gazillion LEOs in at least three different uniforms and a couple of bored looking media types and not a single protestor, is that the one everyone else is seeing??

ETA: and there come what looks like police brass from somewhere. Looks like they are dispersing....

Looked like multiple agencies to me.

I guess they've all agreed to take them to the Ferguson jail to make it more convenient for the protestors, eh??

So much easier to haul them into it that way! They may be trying to retrieve Shahid.

Community take Bro. Shahid away from the police after he was placed under arrest.

^^that's a crime, btw

Funny thing, that. Seems they've lost sight of their goal: to get them to "bring the army back" etc.

I am just thrilled that this action has or is in process of leaving the area of the highway. Worried about protests at jail and the potential for things to be less than peaceful. I am all for peaceful demonstration but in addition to getting clear on "what is your ask?" someone needs to really explain that every ask will not be immediately met with "okey dokey, so mote it be"

Change is what people seem to be asking for and that is fine but what change? how will it be made, with specificity? By whom? Replaced with what instead? Is that reasonable and doable? What is a reasonable timeline for that change to be instituted?

We have raised a generation of microwave and highspeed net service individuals who don't seem to have a very clear concept that change takes time and must be undertaken carefully or anarchy rules. So for those who say the protesters are not asking for total anarchy, what are the protestors thinking they are accomplishing by continuing to demand change but allowing for no time or plan with which to institute said change?

From the live feed: "Welp, there's another arrest....looks like they were running down the ramp to the interstate."

"nasty weather coming our way..."

These people STILL won't acknowledge that MB-
stole from a local business,
pushed the store owner,
ignored LE's request to get outta the street,
attacked LE,
then approached LE again. wtf?

And this is the bottom line. These "protests" are straight out of the Sharpton, Farrakhan, et al playbook. Never let a crisis/tragedy go to waste. Civil unrest and an angry populace keeps many instigators wealthy
