I think you misread my post. And I disagree that a month in is "new". Interesting that you used the word "demands" right off though. Yes, demands some in writing, some in video, some in person have been made from local up to the President.

Considering it took decades to get to this point (if not longer arguably), a month isn't all that long.

And as they have Anthony Shahid now in custody, maybe the FBI can have a word with him about coaching the "witnesses". ;)

Has there been any actual evidence of him coaching witnesses? Or is that still conjecture. May be right. May be wrong. But if that has been established I would love to read it.

No, Michael was only 18. One decade + eight years.

Angry and upset over what? A police officer told a couple of punks to get out of the street and onto the sidewalk and they refused. What the heck are these people protesting, exactly? I don't believe they have a clue.

They know if they keep yapping/protesting/looting, people will want to just pander to them & give them what they want. They'll get their non-violent stuff thrown out of court, fines vanished, more free I-phones, more subsidized housing, more money on their food stamp snap cards, a brand new re-built city, all black politicians, etc etc

But what they really really want is respect & credibility. That is now as likely as making tomato soup without any tomatoes.

Empowerment starts from within. It can't be doled out to you for free.

Actually I think the majority are mad, sad, have anger and grief, and want to be heard. The court system as you spoke of is a long long road to any kind of change when dealing with law enforcement.

It is the same long road for every American.

Plenty of evidence. It's around. I don't think you'd be interested in it.

I'm talking about actual evidence that he actually coached witnesses. Yes, I would be interested in it. If you're referring to the fact he is seen here, and he is seen there, and he was there fast, and the stories all say this or that, no, I have heard that already. I'm talking about actual evidence that he actually coached them. For example, is he recorded telling someone what to say? Has anyone present said he approached them and tried to convince them to be a witness? Any more than conjecture is what I'm saying.

Isn't that how our government is set up to an extent? I would like to think that the people I elect are are trying to effectuate the changes I think are important. I would hope the same holds true for each of us. Aren't we supposed to take our concerns to politicians?

Just because your opinion is that something is important doesn't mean the politician shares your opinion or that even your neighbor shares your opinion. My question still stands: has a list of demands submitted to an official ever been successful?

Vickers, Shahid, Baruti, and Shabazz ... all black muslims and all in the forefront. Where are the black Christian clergy?

Reverend Larry Rice was arrested today.

Give it some time, I'm sure FBI is on it. It would be interesting to know what those "witnesses" told the FBI. Usually, witnesses are as well asked 'with whom they discussed this incident' etc. Anthony Shahid could be seen close to several "witnesses", including DJ. If some of them admitted that Shahid had talked to them, told them what to say, then he is in big trouble. Especially DJ. Who is now in federal custody. It will be interesting to see how all this plays out.

Just my thoughts and my opinion.

Yes, I mentioned black clergy, as I wonder if they've been replaced in that community by muslim activists.

These sure aren't the peaceful protests of the 60's where MLK jr was jailed and his house firebombed.

Then of course the murders. And the dogs and hoses used on the protestors.

And of course there was Cassius Clay who became Muhammad Ali and the bombing of the church .

Oh, for the good old days!

Now that he's in custody, I think the FBI will be all over his "business" and his involvement with this case with a magnifying glass.

But it doesn't mean I can't present it to him/her. In fact, isn't that essentially what lobbyists are? I would suggest lobbyists have been quite successful in presenting items their "clients" would like to see passed through legislation that ultimately are. Now, I will agree that the way it has been presented to date in Ferguson is not an effective way to obtain that change.
