Just a few thoughts & questions coming to mind now: how does the black community feel about & respond to a largely black police force? Does the black community feel a black officer has sold out "to the ma" and is now an "Uncle Tom"? Do they feel he now has the elusive "white card" (whatever that means?). Do they resent him more? And how does the black LE feels about black criminals---is he more harsher, or less??

IMO the police will always be viewed by criminals as the enemy. Race is irrelevant.

“We had to call 911 three times before we got a response vehicle there,” she said. “When they arrived, officers came with guns drawn. They questioned the homeowners about how long they’ve lived in the house; if it was under their name, and asked me what happened. I said ‘I was shot,’ obviously.’”
********************************************************
She called police during a violent protest, when every single available LE AND LE from different counties were trying to keep order and then complains that it took them too long to get there. :sigh:

And then also complains that they were on high alert and asking lots of questions when they got there. I would have too, because I would have been worried that I was walking into an ambush

Yeah, I got no problem with those things. I do have a problem if they haven't done anything to investigate it though.

Investigate it how?

Did you read the previous article I linked? Shots were fired at LE from a yellow pick up truck...shot were fired at a police helicopter ....how should they proceed?

How exactly should they proceed with an investigation on this woman's allegations she was "shot in the head"????
She admitted herself, she don't know who "shot" her...

I recently watched the series "Cops". A black police officer had to arrest a young black man.
The young black man was like "Hey bro..." and the black police officer responded: "Do me a favor? Drop the bro! I'm an officer! All right?"

IMO, that's how it would be in Ferguson as well. The police officers have to do their job.

Well there is a police report. But seriously, how would you even begin to investigate that? Did you watch any of the live feeds during the protests? It was a mad house. Even the police were shot at and have no idea who did it.

News 4 attempted to contact Ferguson police, but the department directed News 4 to a PR firm, the Devin-James Group. News 4 eventually obtained a police report. Devin James said the investigation in ongoing.

Interview witnesses. Look for video. I'm just saying, it's those people that fired those shots that need to have their azzes thrown in jail. Everyone out there was video taping everything. Surely someone caught some portion of the events. If they're doing that and just not telling her, fine. Though as a victim, I'd like to know what her rights are as far as being updated on an investigation. Should but don't know the answer to that.

IMO I'm
Not even convinced she was shot!

How do they investigate a shooting that the victim claims was random? She obviously wasn't hurt that seriously if she walked to a house and waited.

The woman, the location, the shooter were, according to the victim, all outdoors in a sea of chaos. Yet she went to a home and was inside. For all those officers knew, they were being lured into a trap. Their response was appropriate.

Just maybe she needs a lawyer in case she gets charged with filing a false police report after she inflicted the injury to herself?

Didn't someone comment the other day that a family member was going through this type of experience?
maybe Katy?

Very true. I don't believe it is a coincidence that the "leadership" of the protests are ex-cons.

Just wanted to say, I do happen to know some pretty terrific ex-cons.
Some people do learn from their mistakes and turn their life around.

I see nothing terrific in the behaviors of the leadership of the Ferguson protests.

Apparently... "they" wish to strip Officer Wilson of his civil rights.
Where's the justice in that?

His parents need to go home and grieve.
Allow the investigation & process to move forward without the three ring circus.

Seems to me, "justice" is DEAD LAST on everyone's list of priorities.

IMO

Article says it took 3-911 calls to get LE action. There was just shots fired within crowd, some angry protesters, once again LE needs to stabilize scene before they can take action. IIRC Jackson made a comment later that night that locals sure wanted their presents them. MOO

See original story below:

"FERGUSON, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- A Ferguson woman who was shot in the head last Tuesday during early moments of a peaceful Michael Brown protest said she is still waiting for police to take action."

Whoa! Just a minute there, cowboy. A woman is shot in the head during a "peaceful" protest is a statement of contradictory terms. Participants in a peaceful demonstration do not shoot each other. So that does not pass do not cut the mustard test, as O Henry would say. There is nothing I saw that was peaceful about the protest in those early days so the press needs to be stop claiming there was peaceful protesting.

I only just learned the other day from this case that there can't be a civil suit unless OW is arrested.

So if the GJ decides it won't indict, and then OW isn't arrested, then what?

Do these clowns fold up their tents and leave, or what?

From http://www.nytimes.com/2014/09/13/us/mistrust-lingers-as-ferguson-takes-new-tack-on-fines.html?_r=0

In Ferguson, Mo., a neighbor of Michael Brown’s family tries to clear various warrants for his arrest so he can participate in civil disobedience. Video Credit By Brent McDonald on Publish Date September 12, 2014.

“They act like we don’t know our rights or we can’t find out what they are,” said Sophia Jones, who cleared a warrant on Thursday.

She cut the conversation short and scurried out of the lobby. “I am nervous being in this vicinity, because I’ve been in that jail so many times.”

So no problem breaking the law, can't be bothered obeying driving regulations, but can find their way to court clerk ASAP when it benefits them?
