Let's say you had a horrible incident happen at your job, when you were present. Maybe someone was badly injured, or money was stolen? And so your boss said to you--" you are on paid leave while we investigate."

So you come in and make a 4 hour statement, and are aggressively questioned. Maybe polygraphed, and you go home and wait. And you hire an attorney. And other witnesses are called in.

During the weeks that pass, do you think you would get any idea about how it was looking for you? Or do you think you would be totally in the dark?

Would your attorney try and find out how your poly went, and what the other witnesses said? I would hope so.

I think we're actually on the same page. Somehow we got to considering 2 different things. Knowing some bare bones versus what I was talking about, being provided the actual evidence in the investigative file. Copies of witness statements. Autopsy reports. Tox reports. Stuff like that. And yes, I'd expect his lawyer to do everything within his power to gather as much information as he can. I would also hope that the investigators would maintain the integrity of the investigation like they do any other case while sharing whatever information they do end up sharing.

OK> then we are on the same page. Never thought he would be given access to files or full reports. Just given basic feedback on how things are looking. And that is how thing usually work.

JMO Katydid I see what you are saying....and I doubt that I would be on paid leave with police protection. I imagine that I would have been charged. And I doubt that there would be a grand jury involved, but all that aside, I'm sure that I would get info from fellow workers about what was being said. Not quite the same type of issue, but I see what you are getting at. JMO

I thought it would be less than four hours. The whole incident lasted only a few minutes. JMO.

I'm not saying 4 hours is so short such as to throw up red flags for me. I did expect longer though. I seriously think I could ask background questions for an hour or two alone before I even get into the day itself. I would probably have another hour of questions for that day that lead up to the shooting but before it actually happened. I'd want to know everything he did from the time he reported for duty up until then. Each call he was on. What they involved. So forth. From the first interaction with MB until the time he called for backup, I could probably ask questions until I was told to shut up.

The shorter amount of time does give me the belief that there will be no indictment handed down though.

Nothing going on tonight?

So what happened as a result of "noon" coming and going?
I can't even recall the specific threat ...?

The specific threat was that Stenger had until noon to say he was calling out McCulloch. And Stenger tweeted that was not going to happen. And I dont think there has been any response yet?

[h=1]I ❤ FERGUSON? Sure, man says, but buy me out[/h]The yard signs started popping up about a week after Michael Brown died — after the looting, after the riots and protests, after the TV crews and foreign reporters descended on this suburb of 100-year-old homes and giant trees.
..
Then, last Friday, the iloveferguson email got a message from a man named Douglas J. Lewis:
“Dear Sir: I Love Ferguson is a registered trademark,” it read. “Please do not use our registered logo without expressed written consent.”

Brian Fletcher, a former Ferguson mayor, 28-year politician, and the unofficial chair of the iloveferguson committee, said the hairs on the back of his neck stood up.

Fletcher forwarded the email to the rest of his committee. “Is this a joke?” Fletcher asked. He mistakenly included Lewis’ email in his reply.

IMO, Darren isn't being handed investigative files. He may be aware of some of the evidence coming back, etc. also, investigators could have come back to him to inquire abt little things, things witnesses stated, etc.

I don't believe an FPD officer involved in a shooting would have free reign with StL County's files
.
Yeah that ^^^
Preposterous to even think that imo.

Well, the demand was for Stenger to call on McCulloch to resign by noon Wednesday.

And of course, Stenger did not.

And of course, nothing happened at the magical hour of 12:01

Yes and no. :)

Yes = I believe there will not be an indictment.
No = It has nothing to do with the "shorter amount of time" ODW testified.

IMO, it was plenty of time to asked ODW thoroughly. Shortly before he encountered MB and DJ, he was on a sick call in the vicinity: a two year old baby had difficulties breathing and he went to that home where an ambulance was called as well.

Agree with you on all points. ;)

This line of thought never gets old, does it? <modsnip> Let's use Dorian Johnson as an example.

Counting his current child on the way, he will soon have three babies with three different baby mamas. That's two children for sure that have no live-in father figure. Unsure if Dorian had a job or not, but this guy is so concerned about nurturing his future son or daughter that he got over $2000 behind on his rent and according to some, may have finally been evicted. So there's another life beset with future roadblocks to success. Rather than be responsible, Dorian takes a love 'em and leave 'em approach. Rather than getting whatever job(s) are required to pay child support to give his other children a chance to thrive, Dorian smokes weed. The liberal social stance that "it's just sex-lol" or "it's just weed-no biggie" leads to "it's just poverty" and "it's just jail". Once in one of those two places, or both, who often gets the blame? Now, with regard to what we know about Dorian and his choices, which part is the fault of white people?

Rocked it, Daddy! :happydance::happydance::happydance:

A discussion on the incident report came up in another forum and I began to think about what OW statement would look like reported by the press.

Original statement:
"When I tried to exit my vehicle MB slammed the door shut, punched me in the face and tried to get my gun. I reached for my gun before he could get it but before I could get it away from him it went off."
Media quote:
"I tried to exit the vehicle...the door slammed shut....I reached for my gun...and it went off."
Original:
"MB stopped, put his hands in the air and taunted me. I told him to stop but he charged at me. I shot him several times but he kept coming, so I shot him several more times until he fell to the ground dead."
Media:MB stopped, put his hands in the air...I shot him several times...I shot him several more times until he fell to the ground dead."
Original: "He must have been on something. I can't believe that he assaulted me, tried to get my gun and than kept coming at me until I had no choice and shot him"
Media: "I can't believe....I shot him."
Original: "I feel sorry for his parents and his family. He made some really bad choices. He didn't have to do all those crazy things that went into causing his death."
Media: "I feel so sorry for...causing his death."

"

Soooo, from the comments under @antoniofrench's retweet of the City Council press release, people are angry about it. They said they wanted info, now they're offended the council is going to give them some.
