I asked some neighborhood kids about this whole pants hanging low thingy and they told me that it's a prison statement. As in, our heroes are prisoners and this is how we support them by showing solidarity or some nonsense. They could have been messing with me but mostly thugs started this wonderful fashion statement.
I can't see how they figure they can break the law and run fast with all that solidarity hanging below their butts and not get caught lol

That's funny because all I heard are prisoners saying that wearing your pants like that is asking to get raped in prison. I'd guess some kids my think that but that's not the meaning for all.

Good point. Haven't the "folks" at WS said that many witnesses on the scene completely lack credibility over smaller miscalculations?
I seem to remember that.

Yes they have but it will be explained shortly.

I'm guessing the Dallas Cowboy fans who are travelling to the game aren't going to play with this nonsense either.

There will probably be more Cowboy fans than Rams fans.

Ok, I went back again to listen to the chief talk about the 35 feet. He also stated Brown had at least 2 bullet shots, or more. This was a quick brief before measurements and an autopsy was performed. Sorry, I gave the chief a break since this is all the info he had at the time since everyone had to know RIGHT THIS SECOND what happened before having a chance to gather perfect info. That's my take.

Yeah, the chief wasn't a witness, just reporting what he had likely been told. He either was told 35 yards and said feet instead, or he was just unclear at that time. I don't see it as a big deal. In Lyric and Lizzie's case the police told the wrong timestamp of the surveillance video and nobody was calling for immediate termination of the chief there.

And there it is being explained away. He should have kept his mouth shut then if he doesn't know what he's talking about. He opened it. So it's a statement attributable to him and it also happens to be a pretty big misstatement. Trying to explain it away just makes it sound worse. It is what it is. A misstatement. So be it. Move on. Because these guys have handled enough crimes and accidents that there is no way in hell something is 100 feet a part and the closest approximation they get is 35 feet. There is some reason for the misstatement and what that reason has yet to be determined. It could be ignorance. It could be he was confused. It could be he just said it for no reason what so ever and it just came out. It could be something darker than all of that but that I doubt.

Then he has idiots working the investigation and that gives me concern as well. Oh, and I'm not calling for anyone's termination. I'll leave that to the fools on twitter but what I won't do is let him off the hook that easy when everyone wants to jump up and down about the other witnesses. He should be held to a higher level of expectation in giving statements because I bet he's done more, both to the media, in depositions and in Court, but at a minimum, it should be held in the same light as every other witness.

To me the discrepancy about 35 ft vs 100 ft may have just been as simple as someone said 35 feet but meant 35 yards, or someone said the 35 yards which the next person reported as 35 ft. You know the old game of telephone.

Maybe. But it's been said. If Crenshaw says she meant front, not back, will that make her credible?

Surely we will get to see the complete diagram of the scene including cones, distances, photographs of evidence, blood spatter, etc when either the GJ returns a no true bill or there is a trial.

Explain it away? He shouldn't have made a statement? And where were all these armchair lawyers when a statement NEEDED to be made before ANY investigating was done and everyone was getting rowdy wanting answers immediately? Should the PD have said, "we'll have that info sometime later"? That would have went over like a huge lead balloon LOL We want answers NOW, we want transparency NOW, the PD are hiding facts! One can see how that's working with the GJ and protesters wanting answers NOW not when they are finished.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

As far as misstatements, I could believe the feet/yard mistake WAY before a centimeter which was repeated.

But she's a witness. He, on the other hand, was just reporting. The difference is tell what you saw vs report what someone else told you. There is a difference.

So, what I'm reading is, keep your mouth shut if you don't have the facts exact? One might want to clue the news media on that one LOL

Just went back and read Shaun Kings piece again.

He just measured the distance between Officer Wilson's vehicle and MB body to come up with the 100 feet.

Has anyone shown us where Officer Wilson was standing when he shot MB? I haven't seen anything like that. The forensic team that processed the scene can tell exactly where he was standing when the shots were fired. I'll be waiting for that information.

In the meantime, all we're left with is a group of 'folks' who believe Shaun King, who has no official crime scene photos, and a group of 'folks' who believe LE. Regardless, what Shaun King has tweeted doesn't prove the Chief a liar to me.

Sam Dotson has a message for protestors: “If you’re not planning to remain peaceful, don’t come downtown this weekend.”

Demonstrators will be allowed to display their message as long as they do it peacefully, he said, but if they become belligerent, they will be shut down by police.

“Protesting in a respectful way is certainly allowed, and I will uphold everybody’s right to do that,” Dotson said. “But what we won’t allow are people to block streets, to disrupt baseball, to disrupt football.”

I'm going with Chief Belmar's statement regarding the preliminary investigation showing "the entire scene from uh, from approximately the car door to uh the shooting is about 35 feet" until further information is released. (At 1:14 here: http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=60b_1407692122). First, the bold are qualifiers and indicate it's not an exact measurement. Second, any figures he has have likely been provided by on scene investigators. Now, they could have said 35 yards, and he misspoke and said 35 feet. (I doubt it.) But the grand conspiracy some on SM are clinging to as the false narrative is exposed is desperate and weak, IMO.

The witnesses' discrepancies versus autopsy and other data are relevant because they have stated they witnessed the shooting. If material details they state don't match the data, either they've lied about having seen the event or they've lied about what they saw. For example, someone said Michael was shot and on the ground, when Officer Wilson walked over and fired more shots into him from above; completely discredited by autopsy details.

It got so bad in a neighboring town from me that they now have an ordinance on the books forbidding anyone from wearing saggy pants. If caught, they will be fined. If they are caught again they will be fined more and also the parents.

The police departments went to all the Jr. High and High Schools and handed out new belts.

IMO

The difference is that one is supposed to be investigating the incident. Held to a much higher level of expectation than just some witness. So I agree. There is a difference.
