Pffft!
Some people have to learn the hard way that standing in the street & deliberately intimidating people isn't safe....I'm willing to teach em!

Kind of makes me wonder... just from reading here, remarks from lots of friends not on here, if there's going to be a time when some are just so fed up with the nonsense they'll band together and open a can of whoop azz on em. I'm sure it's not just us wondering why more aren't arrested.

Frankly I'm a little shocked they weren't tossing their children in front of the cars.

NOOO, you can't be throwing your income in front of moving cars!!!!

Three arrested in Ferguson after protester says he was struck by car

The driver was arrested, along with a protester who damaged the man’s car. A third man was taken into custody when he ignored police orders to get out of the roadway.

Jackson said no one reported any injuries, but some protesters alleged on social media that some of them were hurt, and criticized police for not calling for ambulances or medical assistance.

This is a travesty. Outrageous. That man was an innocent victim. As long as they are allowing this kind of thing the strategy is working. Disgusting.

I would have laid on the horn and kept driving.

One of the universities I teach part time for has buildings in in a "bad" neighborhood. We have security in the parking lots, and escorts into the buildings. A couple times over the years I have had a few sauntering, swaggering, saggy pants youths impede my car as I came near the building parking lots. (But while once they slammed a palm on my hood, and shouted "mean things", they never surrounded my car). Each time this has happened, I stopped, continuously laid on the horn. (And the campus security came running over.) Thankfully, that was enough to persuade them to move away.

But I doubt that this would have dissuaded these disruptive people in Ferguson. They were hell bent on setting a trap, IMO. This guy in the black SUV was the targeted victim, IMO.

Reminds me of the "terrible twos" when a parent simply walks away and ignores the tantruming tot.
Toddlers outgrow it and everyone not participating in the mayhem is hoping if they ignore it these thugs will grow bored and stop.
But these are adults....there are consequences, and they aren't going to be good for these people.
I would think that can of whoop azz is fast approaching.
Elected officials and law enforcement need to stop the coddling before very one else gets REALLY pissed off!
They're basically holding everyone hostage.

I saw a lot of great people during the first days ...those that cleaned up the mess the idiots made.
Those pleading to be peaceful
Freeze pop lady that helped Tim Poole...the people defending their businesses...
These thugs are hurting those good people and the entire city.

I've been talking to a lot of people. While this story received national coverage, no one outside of ferguson cares.
People 3 hours away in Springfield don't care.

People here in NJ don't even know who Mike Brown is....this isn't like Trayvon Martin. A real kid walking minding his own business walking home from the store.
This is not that...
All IMO

Silly question. The police have confirmed he is dead, dozens of witnesses and family to. No one who saw OW's injuries have actually described them on the record. Jackson described them- but as we know he says he did not see the injuries at all. Interesting he distanced himself that way.

OMG! Really? There's 2 investigations going on & a GJ deciding if there is evidence to charge ODW with something . . . IMHO anyone who assaults LEO is nuts!

IMHO Jackson & all police forces in StL Metro are walking on f*cking egg shells! Evidence to that is today in Ferguson

please! Demographics . . .

I'm from Missouri. Show me.

And show me the "demographics" of the people at that protest today, who may or may not be from Ferguson.

No you aren't from here, right (NMx)? But I AM -- and if you were actually a resident, you'd know what Ferguson & many areas of North City & County have become -- maybe take a moment & Google the White Flight out of StL proper & how we are trying to gentrify areas only to deal with this kind of cr@p! Please  but thank you for your banter

another LIAR!!! Man, I am so tired of liars!

OK-I need to tread carefully here, so I will present this as a "theory" at this point. I wish I could take credit for the theory, but figured I would at least mention it here and see what you guys think. The "theory" is that it would be quite likely that if OW found himself in a very dangerous situation, there is a strong liklihood that he would use a feature on his body mike that would do 2 things. It would put out an "officer in distress" signal as well as RECORD everything that was said after pressing the mike, due to its lock feature on it. It is my understanding that this is a common feature on the types of body mikes worn by officers and would be a simple button for an officer to push, based on his familiarity with the equipment.

Here is a screen shot from Piaget's video of OW in the street shortly after the shooting.

Cops.png

You can clearly see that OW is indeed wearing what appears to be a body mike, and you can see his fellow officer actually using his as well. Watching the video helps as well:

I am not sure if this is the same mike used by OW, but here is a photo showing the different buttons on a standard issue body mike. I can't take credit for this, as someone else shared it, but wanted to share it with you guys:

Motorola_hand-held.jpg

NOW....how interesting would it be if OW did, in fact, choose to activate the emergency feature on his mike when he was first assaulted in the vehicle, and just how enlightening might any audio that would have been recorded from that moment forward??

I totally understand what you are saying, and we should all be careful not to paint all people with a broad brush. I think what some people are objecting to, is the way little children have been 'used' in the protests, even placed in dangerous situations. Parents had to know there was possibly going to be tear gas, and bottles thrown, rubber bullets, even real bullets and looting. Yet we saw many children, some very young, being marched through the volatility. And today we saw kids calling for the DEATH of OW, and their parents looked on proudly and praised them. And we saw little children walking down the street, blocking traffic. It is wrong to exploit their kids during this civil unrest, imo.

Wonder why their fundraising $$$ can't cover the cost of football tickets? Why beg for them to be donated? Surely their deep pocket lawyers & leaders could fund this....

If they wanted to.

No time to read today's thread. If this pic has been posted, my apologies.

MB's parents attended the BET Awards in Atlanta last night. Not sure I understand why Mr. Brown is wearing a Tshirt with his pic on it. His ball cap still has the price sticker attached.

I don't think the lawyers are onboard with this silly nonsense.
