It's a shame that Brown's parents weren't this united when he was alive. Perhaps they could have helped change his life course together if they had been. They should also be taking this opportunity that they have been given (speaking out as the parents of Brown) to help others understand where they/their son went wrong in life and how to make things better for others. Instead they want to stick their heads in the sand and ignore the fact that their son was behaving like a 🤬🤬🤬🤬 and going down the wrong road in life, one that leads to prison time instead of one that leads to being a productive member of society. Hopefully this is a wake up call to them and they are working on doing better for the other children they have.

ita - but perhaps they also need a role model as they're sure not getting the guidance. perhaps keith & karen could be their role models? (only way i heard about this couple is that they were featured on the r/ray show this week).

amazing what they have done:

Our Chapter Motto: "It's Time to Teach New School Kids, Old School Values"

In just 5 years we have been featured on local news KNBC News (twice) recently USA Football and Access Athletes have written articles about our program. (See links below) In 2011 we were awarded the “Best of the Best” Community Service Award and the Watkins Award for Community Service.

Most of the focus about our agency has been based on our success in changing the lives of youth within the community we serve in spite of these community facts:

The Brown's were on stage during the BET Awards held in Atlanta. They were accompanied by Lost Voices.

View attachment 59513

Brown's parents are celebrities on stage at BET awards. The driver that was surrounded by a mob in his car is arrested. The world is upside down. I'm losing hope.

At this point, I don't even think an indictment, arrest, conviction, death penalty of OW will be enough. No matter what happens, it will not be enough. If he is indicted, there will still be pandemonium in the streets. I feel that anything they receive will only give them further justification to "protest" and wreak havoc on society.

i've had it with the "adults" - the only hope i have left is for the kids.

In my opinion, nobody has the intestinal fortitude to address this situation, Republican or Democrat. People have been brainwashed, afraid of being called "racist", especially since our AG also identifies himself as a black man who has also suffered - by being stopped by LE, the same as we all have. It's not a matter of Republican or Democrat, rather it about two different mindsets - black and white. Even though the shooting of MB by OW was not about race, the mobs, looters, rioters, race baiters, and money grubbers have made it so.

Until we realize the mob does not want the same things most <modsnip> Americans do, like laws and civilization, this will keep on happening and there cannot be any resolution.

Do I have an answer? Yeah, but it isn't politically correct and I kinda like it here.

My opinion only

I can think of at least two Republican governors who have stood up to this administration, and had they been in charge during this debacle, I suspect it'd have been handled better. Gov Nixon jumped in and criticized LE, calling for prosecution, before he had facts. It was a brilliant move to withdraw the Natl Guard and scuttle the protestors' attempts to force him to appoint a special prosecutor. It is interesting he's backed off, especially given that he's talked to Valerie Jarrett. He wouldn't be the first governor to scuttle his own political ambitions trying to play both sides. Some true leadership is sorely lacking in this.

I don't believe there are "white" mindsets and "black" mindsets. In Ferguson, in St Louis, and online there are voices of people of different races disagreeing with the false narrative, the rioting, the victim and outrage du joir mentality.

The main point of my post though was how discombobulated and unfocused the protestors seem. At this point, I think it's a loose amalgam of disparate groups and individuals, some seeking anarchy and revolution, nationalists and separatists, criminals, and politicians all in this to benefit themselves and their respective causes.

As I've said before, it's tragic and infuriating the true lessons of Michael's death are being lost in their vitriolic hate of authority, LE, other races, etc.

:yeahthat:

I saw a picture of Mike Sr in a shirt the other day I thought was an unfortunate choice. It said "Don't shoot, #ihaveafuture". Had Michael not died that day, his likely future was prison given all the crimes he committed. I know they want to point to the false narrative, but that day Michael was a criminal.

Mom said this earlier. With their teaming with Shahid, agitators, and their 3 lawyers, acting as if they have no idea why Michael was in the street so long, trying to deny Michael's actions, all I see is irony in this statement.

She had a message for the officer who shot and killed her son:
“You know what I would say to him? The same thing I would say to my son if he did something wrong and he know he did something wrong. You take your punishment. And if you a man, you stand up, you be a man, you say, ‘I was wrong.'”

Every single one of those people interfereing with and putting their hands on LE needs to be arrested. Every. Single. One.

ITA, Duchess.

It's been hard to decide on which of the many factors of the entire Ferguson debacle fallout is most disturbing.

After seeing all that went down yesterday, I think the Most Disturbing Factor at the moment* is that our police have been so neutered.

Not only was such nonsense allowed, but innocent people like this CRV driver got his ID laid bare for bad guys AND he was actually arrested?

Real people are being harmed here. It's wrong.

Just pure, stinking BS.

I still think that camera dude faked the "evidence," and if there's any hope for us, he'll be called to account.

Where the heck are our leaders? Adults even?

Or does speaking the language of mindfulness, responsibility, and JUSTICE FOR ALL immediately disqualify someone for a leadership role, simply because it will get shouted down?

Don't you just love auto-correct and intuitive typing?

A friend of mine sent me a text yesterday telling me that a lady died in his automotive plant.

I replied: "Oh my goodness, that's honorable!"

(obviously, it was supposed to say 'horrible'). I felt like such a jerk.

Hahaha! At least people are getting used to it. It caught me similarly a few days ago, which made me change to my latest tag line.

There's an entire site devoted to screen shots of autocorrect goofs. NSFW, but a lot is hilarious.

I hope we get to the point that every protestor tat breaks any law is arrested and charged to the fullest extent possible, but I think multiple factors may be stymying that.

Yesterday, the crowd tried to free the suspect from LE as they attempted an arrest, which is a felony. They've done it before, and successfully pulled the person away. They have no fear of police. The outnumbered police are faced with a volatile crowd willing to get physical with them. Now, I wish they'd call for back up, throw them all into a police van, but from stats posted the other day, looks like officers may be spread thin. And they probably have to weigh the safety to themselves and the innocents in the area, vs the seriousness of the charges. Uniform enforcement is probably also made difficult by the sheer number of LE agencies, and thus bosses and strategies in that area. If there's not a task force in place yet to address unified response, I hope the agencies establish one.

There's probably also tons of politicians weighing in on how to handle these guys.

Since LE is following SM, they're also likely aware that protestors yesterday seemed to be trying to get a rise out of them. I hope someone has made sure LE has all of Mustafa's relevant videos, not just a portion that fits their lie about being run over while peacefully protesting.

The way LE thwarted the highway shutdown was EPIC. I hope we see more of the same today, and more arrests every time these guys break the law. God bless these hard working men and women in blue, particularly since their jobs are made even more difficult by these guys. They were shot at earlier, and showed more restraint than necessary, IMO.

So glad the individual that ran over my intern was arrested. He is right where he belongs! #Ferguson

hahaha...so now her intern was 'run over. ' lol what a crock

I wonder if it's possible that the man in the SUV was arrested for something completely unrelated to the car surrounding incident? Such as one of those outstanding warrants we keep hearing about?

Any live feeds up for the football game today?

And also dismissive that Jackson's changing stories, and inaccuracies mean anything at all.
Yet third hand reports from anonymous people are discussed as "fact". Interesting, IMHO.

So, changing stories and inaccuracies are a problem when it comes to Jackson, but not to the original three witnesses the whole "excessive force" narrative is based on? Interesting!

Yes I know. I find it highly unlikely that MB was shot out of hate or racism. I did not say that. But the protests are about racism. It is about a community of people who truly believe (whether they are right or not) that they are discriminated against.

LOL - ALWAYS about racism! (sigh)

So we have a mention of swelling from Jackson- who qualified that by adding they did not actually see the swelling.

And that is as close we get to an official report. But ya know- the evidence is in!

"The officer was taken to an area hospital where he was treated for a "swollen face," Ferguson Police Chief Tom Jackson said, adding he had not personally seen the officer's injury."

What evidence exists within the statements of Johnson, Crenshaw and Mitchell? Been waiting for awhile now.

ITA. I was really worried yesterday when the officers were being mobbed and physically shoved, pushed, interfered with, etc that it would be so easy for one of those rioters in the mob to stab or shoot an officer, taking advantage of the relative anonymity of the mob to try to get away with it. And the officers did not appear to be wearing vests or anything. At this point, I think they really should be in helmets, vests, and riot gear for every shift in this dangerous area. Their very lives are at stake, and these mobs are unpredictable and very impulsive in their violence, IMO.

Respectfully but strongly disagree. It is our brains that screw us up. If we could all listen to our hearts, all 7 billion of us would be happy and content.

In the history of statements on the internet, I don't think I've seen one I disagree with more. IMO, you have it exactly and completely backwards!

According to these tweets, the person who was hit by the SUV was an intern of Senator Maria Chappelle-Nadal.

Surprise surprise surprise! SMH

I've never been one for tinfoil, but this whole case is loaded with little and big things like this that just scream "set-up."

Am I crazy? Lol

I've even been tempted to check the background of whatever other officer they might have expected to be driving by MB and Darion. Lol :o

Mo's most visible and vocal general assembly member has weighed in on today's events via twitter:

My intern was run over by KKK!

https://twitter.com/MariaChappelleN/status/513431847078862848

I find it astonishing that none of her state senate or state representative colleagues is willing to call out and publicly chastise her and the other state senator for their unbelievably retched, nasty, hateful, and unprofessional tweets and behavior. This is hate speech. These women are sociopaths, IMO, and very dangerous.

And IMO, this senator knew full well about the little anarchy game and traffic trap her interns were setting up. I believe she knew violence against innocent drivers was planned. I believe she should be criminally investigated for that, as well as investigated for ethics violations as a sitting member of the state senate. I hope one of her state colleagues calls for an investigation of her activities. She has made the Missouri Senate into a mockery, and I can't believe they stand for that.
