Ron Johnson was asked to leave ..theyre gonna need a new token

Protestors on scene asked Capt Ron Johnson to leave the site?? Saw a pic of police there now.

Yep. We have seen with our own eyes how AA's treat AA law enforcement. As far as they're concerned he's an 'Uncle Tom' to them.

But let's all talk about how the residents of Ferguson need more AA police officers because it will make them happy and help improve race relations.

Update, 11:19 a.m.: StreetFest is postponed indefinitely due to safety concerns, the city says.

Toni Roper, the marketing and events coordinator, says in the city's statement: "Obviously, the timing for this isn't ideal, but the safety of our residents, vendors and all participants is our main concern. We want to thank everyone for the outpouring of support that we have received and can't wait to see everyone again soon."

"Our city and our citizens and businesses must not be held hostage,"

"The actions of the protesters are costing our businesses their livelihood and our city taxes. This is their goal," he writes. "They disrupt the peace of restaurants, the Farmer's Market and traffic. They are breaking the law."

This past Saturday, a very well known female co-owner of multiple Ferguson businesses was blocked on S. Florissant road. Her vehicle was surrounded by the so called peaceful protectors taunting, cursing, calling her a white bit**. She was brought to tears. They stood in middle of the street, surrounding her vehicle, not allowing her to move. For 25 minutes she was held against her wishes as a hostage, literally kidnapped. The police were down the street a bit further handling another similar incident were a motorist supposedly bumped a protestor who was in the street blocking his path. The mob then pounded on the vehicle causing $1500 in damage (according to a local auto firm). I ask you again, is this peaceful?

Caught up. Sad and pessimistic, since the "leaders" are inept or certifiable.

We had all just better hope EBOLA never comes NEAR there or any other pockets of such conspiracy minded, unthinking populations. :(

This is a shame. A dirty rotten shame. They won't be happy until their whole town is burned down. I am glad that people are stepping forward. This story about the business owner is heartbreaking! Why can't there be justice for her??? $1500 in property damanage? This is out of control.

Residents say fire intentionally set. Very angry. @PDPJ and I only journos here some threatening us

Group issued statement: "We the people are not allowing the media to come and twist our stories anymore." Continued.

Statement: "And also we're not going to allow police to police our community anymore. We are not the criminals."

This is why looking at some of the tweets is important to understand what the protestors are thinking. Stating the media twists their stories.....they twist their own stories and that is obvious by the reports of who was responsible for this fire this morning.

The next statement about not allowing police in their community. Corporations own the property where they live so that will never happen. This causes all types of problems for the actual property owners in terms of damages and insurance losses. Very irresponsible statements as if anyone has a choice about police coverage in their community.

So, wait.... while we were watching the KKK guy plow through the protesters (er... um... the the white guy get surrounded by a mob of screaming protesters), there were more of them down the street surrounding a female business owner? For 25 minutes????? And this is the first this is being reported?

Not blaming the vicitm here, but whyinheck didn't she just run them down? I sure would have. No way I'm sitting there for 25 minutes surrounded by a taunting, jeering out-of-control mob.

Boy, law enforcement there really needs to step up and take back some control. This is beyond outrageous.

Iirc, people at the meeting last night were talking about what to do when surrounded by protestors. Wonder how many have been actively held captive?

You could see on the video that a lot of cars were just blocked in and could not go anywhere.

I saw video showing them briefly blocking in cars. Even the KKK guy was only blocked briefly before they claimed he ran over them. I didn't see any cars being surrounded and held hostage for 25 minutes! Is there video of that poor woman being held captive?

Now I'm thinking quite possibly a lot more than we're aware of.

They're making the memorial on the street bigger/longer per tweets.

No. I don't think so. They were focusing on that one driver only. I did see the blue car try to turn around. Isn't it strange the only incident where protestors claimed to have been run over (3 of them) was right where the camera was located. I have to look at it again because it seems to me someone called the cameraman over or someone may have signaled him but all of a sudden he took off towards that car. This poor man will go down in history as the KKK guy.

K, wow

The media does nothing but skew info for their benefit IMO.

And please, not going to let "the police, police."

Who do they think is going to respond when they dial 911?

I'm getting a headache from all the :facepalm:ing I'm doing

Now I'm thinking quite possibly a lot more than we're aware of.

Looks like residents are being harrassed and intimidated by protestors.

cursing at residents
spitting at residents and vehicles
surrounding and attacking vehicles on a public roadway
urinating on public and private property
threatening to burn down city buildings
intimidating customers at local businesses
threatening violence against residents
physically assaulting innocent people

Residents are organizing to get their voices heard.
