Since when does a person who
steals
pushes
disobeys cops
become a hero supported by sports teams?
For me...smh.

And what's with MB and DJ walking along in the middle of a public street at noon? Is that common?

The only reason anyone in that town would go "cray-cray" if Officer Wilson is not charged, hung, drawn, and quartered, is because they don't understand, or refuse to abide by our laws. If they don't understand our laws, maybe they should ask Johnson of the Highway Patrol. He ought to be able to enlighten them, or they could call Sharpton. If they refuse to abide by our laws and go cray-cray, bring in the heavy LE equipment. At that point, in my opinion, they would be domestic terrorists and should be dealt with accordingly.

My sympathy quotient is zero about now.

bbm Oh wouldn't that be a hoot. :scared:

I'm afraid you're right. The modus operandi, judging by the DOJ and Gov's and others ' reactions to the video release is to suppress anything that doesn't support the narrative that officer Wilson should be convicted of whatever will make the rioters content.

Yes, Muffet you are right again,. :)
Officer Wilson has a so to speak bounty on him, imoo.
Those folks won't be satisfied until he is arrested.
Wilson was doing his job......

MB was being a law-breaker. imo

Holder is the LAST person to tamp things down. He will be stirring the pot, imo. He is there to try and pressure the prosecutor to arrest the officer as soon as possible, imo.

I hope that won't be the case, but his record is one of being very decisive IMO

If these new developments are true, it will come out. They might be able to quash it initially, but if reporters are getting FIOA requests for info (like the convenience store video), it will come out. It may not break on CNN, but it will get picked up.

All MOO

Redskins players show solidarity with Ferguson protest with 'Hands up, don't shoot' gesture http://bit.ly/1yVTwRg

Safety Ryan Clark said Brown "could have been any one of us. That could have been any one of our brothers, our cousins. ... When you get an opportunity to make a statement and be more than a football player, it's good."

I just lost my breakfast...

Deb, I have a feeling --as in moo --that MB and DJ walked in middle of the street-- that day anyway-- to show who owned it, kwim?
Also to maybe intimidate people.

I would bet there's a lot of information being suppressed, like pics of officer Wilson's injuries, the ballistics, car, MB's knees, to avoid another reaction they predicted and got after the surveillance video was released.

The sad irony is that if they had decided to come out with all they had ASAP, instead of jump to a narrative and fight to keep it going, the riots could have petered out in the first days.

As it is, they have a tiger by the tail. Either scapegoat Wilson or try to backpedal and "unconvince" the crowds of all the things they've been convincing them of. Like MB's actions don't matter... Nothing matters - nothing justifies...
:(

IME yes. This is a normal pedestrian situation in my neighborhood. It is annoying rude as all **** but not uncommon at all. I don't get the aversion to sidewalks but it exists.

I thought when the violence started the protests would slow down. The really scary part of it at this point IMO of time is it just does not seem like it is stopping any time soon. Just the notion of "sleep deprivation" for the folks who just live there is a valid entity! It is like powerlessness last night was really intense

and just as a country it is sad the world is watching this too

bbm
CARIIS,
Your words are powerfully true (and sad).

B ut the problem with that is MILLIONS of teens take selfies throwing 'gang' signs. It does not mean they are in gangs. They also signify neighborhoods, friendships, area codes etc.

My daughter and my son BOTH have taken pictures in the past 'throwing signs.' Neither of them have ever been anywhere near a gang.

I don't tolerate it.

I talk to mine, ALL the time. teens should think too much of themselves to idolize gangsters or wannabes. IMO

Because our brothers and cousins routinely rob convenience stores and resist arrest ?

[h=2]More than police originally reported[/h]overwhelming majority of them were from Missouri.

Of the 78, all but three were arrested for refusing to disperse,

Two people, both from the St. Louis area, were arrested for unlawful use of a weapon, and a man from Rockton, Illinois, was arrested for interfering with an officer…

https://time.com/3145123/ferguson-arrests/

Authorities had reported early that 31 people were arrested overnight. Authorities early Tuesday blamed people from out of town for some criminal activity.

he records show that 18 people from outside Missouri were arrested Monday night and early Tuesday. They came came from as far away as Brooklyn, Washington, D.C., and San Diego.

One of the people arrested for refusing to disperse, Kyle Niere, 23, told NBC News by phone on Tuesday that he was dragged from his truck by law enforcement officers as he was trying to drive away from the protests.

“They drug us all out,” said Niere, who said he lives in Ferguson and was among a group of 12 people arrested. “Face-first on the ground, stepping on the back of our heads. They’re being brutal for no reason. None of us were violent. We were just there.”

Niere estimated that about 20 law enforcement officers, all from St. Louis County, descended on his truck. He said that they were protesting near

Will that news be reported by MSM? IMo likely not.
SABBM

There are times that it seems MSM itself wants some sort of ethnic/racially-charged war. (Seriously, do they (msm) want civil war ---resulting in martial law --- in the U.S.?)
Still appreciate the fact we have to link to MSM so that this isn't a forum of biased opinions ; but it's problematic, the things that MSM leaves out of the news. Like they are all of them slanted one way or the other.
Not responsible journalism , imo.

So, Eric Holder's getting his nose into this fracas ?? Going to make things worse ; that he is !

(letter in it's entirety)

Just my thoughts here ; but it looks like Trayvon's mother thinks some people, mostly lawmakers/law enforcement, don't care that their young sons are dead.

That is not true. NO ONE is celebrating their deaths. I'm not.
Any time a person dies in the manners of these young people, is not a cause to rejoice. It is sad, and I'm thinking about what might have been.
What if different choices had been made ; and different paths followed ?

And to those looting, whether they are from Ferguson or St. Louis or elsewhere --- shame on you ! You looters are tearing down the very fabric of society that you feel owes you something. (--speaking to looters and other violent acts, not the peaceful protesters !)
There. I said it.
Apologies if this post comes off as harsh and unforgiving.
:moo:

edited to add : Sorry, my links aren't working ---will try again

Liet,
Excellent post. I believe it's okay to voice your thoughts and much welcomed by me and others. ;)

Absolutely Agree! We saw what he did just before this. He has been using his size to intimidate, jmo. The way he pumped himself to the store clerk like he was the boss. When he hit the street with that wad of cigarillos he was saying here I am, I dare someone to get in my way. I truly don't think he walked out and looked at his friend and said I don't know what I was thinking when I walked out without paying. When Officer Wilson arrived and told them to get out of the middle of the road, ( no they were not crossed the street )jmo MB still was pumped/heart still racing with adrenaline from the store theft, with his previous run ins he knew he would come up on the computer in Wilson's vehicle, probably including the juvie record too. He probably felt like he was going down once the stealing was found out about, he may have thought Wilson already knew. idk I don't know about the repeat offender laws there, but it seems he was one. jmo idk

Not mine...
Correction... I do have one cousin that's a drug addicted criminal. He's in prison, right where he belongs.

The Highway Patrol captain in charge of security in Ferguson, Missouri, expressed hope Tuesday that peaceful protesters would stay home and allow authorities to deal with “those who have been ruining our community.”

Capt. Ron Johnson, who grew up in the area, spoke after a chaotic night in which 78 people were arrested and two people were hit by gunfire. I

...........protest during the daytime and stay home at night and let us take those who have been ruining our community and take them and deal with them,”

....He praised police for their restraint late Monday and early Tuesday. He also faulted some members of the media for glamorizing violent criminals and giving them a platform.
