I wonder how many of these protestors really understand the findings of the case so far, or are they just going on emotion. That's a very dangerous thing. I am not saying Michael Brown deserved to be killedbut so far it seems that all of this based on very uncredible witness accounts so far. It seems like they have made up in their mind that the only form of Justice is for the officer to be indited, but what if they facts don't back up that?? IF the facts do show the shooting was unjust, and murder then let the GJ do their job. But it would be a crime against justice in itself if the cop is indited only because of emotions in the community, Justice is a two way street.

you better tell the truth. Lying to the feds is a serious crime. Ask Martha Stewart about good ole 18 USC 1001. It's actually a pretty scary statute. The statement doesn't even have to made to a federal official becasue it's about statement made about anything in the jurisdiction of the federal government.

I was suspicious about DJ recanting but if 1001 is involved I can see it happening. I'm sure he didn't know anything about this stautute but I bet his attorney explained it to him. The mention of this statute could also alter the testimony of other witnesses. If they aren't being completely honest, they might want to rethink that, asap.

I totally agree. Martha Stewart tried to talk her way out of it and was still nailed.

It wasn't the protesters who sent out those employees. If you research the aftermath of the whole mess, the LE deployment made things worse. While this doesn't necessarily say anything about the situation in MO (though it might), it is difficult to say whether the public's decision to exercise their democratic rights or the state's decision to exert its authority made things worse. Most scholarship and journalism since those riots has defended the public. But again, this wasn't about the situation in MO.

Like "broad daylight" is a modifier that makes anything more egregious or horrific. If it happens in the middle of the night, no biggie, but if it happens in "broad daylight" whoa!

It just occurred to me that maybe the bad element people there think it's OK to get violent at night, because hey, it's not BROAD DAYLIGHT, which is apparently a thing, even to their governor.

I think it that just speaks of our culture too, everyone is taught that the night is when the "bad stuff happen". And if it's in daylight, you are somehow "safe".
