BBM-Caveat

This is Dr. Erik Mitchell:

You left out this tidbit. Sounds like Dr. Mitchell was the subject of a witch hunt much like the one now underway in Ferguson, MO.

Dr. Mitchell was not available for comment today. Mr. Cominsky said Dr. Mitchell was "the victim of a tremendous amount of accusation and slander." Dr. Mitchell has a $3 million slander lawsuit pending against one of his accusers.

http://www.nytimes.com/1993/11/20/n...al-examiner-agrees-to-quit-after-inquiry.html

You can't post an entire article. I offered ellipses providing that it was not the entire article. I couldn't find anything on a verdict on the slander case did you?

Not sure how he was the subject of a witch hunt, only one of the many accusers was taken to court. At best he was a sloppy administrative executive. Would you want your local M.E. that irresponsible about evidence and human bodies?

Next time they thank you in private, can you ask them to come back and answer the questions that have been asked? Please?

Do you mean about the real facts of this case? I agree.

I need to get a hold of my pain, and lay down for a while. I will try to be back to transcribe live feeds later. Hoping we have a peaceful night.

I did not find, but it so important I am bringing it over from other thread and other poster (dont recall but TY) this but it both blew my mind and depressed me.

If he is indicted, the case will move to a trial. Even if the trial goes in Wilson's favor, Ohlin tells us "there is always the possibility of a federal criminal prosecution." If Wilson is not indicted, the case "could still move forward... But it gives you more grounds for appeal," said Kessler.

s if "justice" isn't served. I truly hope the GJ chooses not to indict.

So do I but what I learned from last thread , irrelevant , they can proceed with the whole sha bang and it is, sadly , unlikly that they wont -politically they feel they cant sad state of affairs.

"It's really heartbreaking to see a man elected to an office that high in our state government ... come out with a statement like that, that does prejudge the case," Missouri Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder told Fox News' Shepard Smith late Tuesday. "It would be wrong for a prosecutor to say what the governor has said here tonight and it's wrong for the governor of Missouri to have said it."

Nixon and McCulloch are Democrats, while Kinder is a Republican. Under Missouri law, the governor and lieutenant governor are elected separately.

Sgt. Kevin Ahlbrand, President of the Missouri Fraternal Order of Police, told Fox News' Megyn Kelly that he was "very disappointed" in the governor's statement.

"We welcome a vigorous investigation," Ahlbrand said. "Unfortunately, justice needs to go both ways. Darren's been vilified in the press and by politicians with minimal facts being made public."

I think what he means is he(I think he's a he) was a man, doing manly things, like serving and protecting the country. Not strong arming tiny store clerks to steal cigars and scuffling with the law.

Sure maturity and wisdom comes with age, but at 18 he HAD to know robbing and assaulting people, including a police officer could have immediate and severe consequences. If not, then I'm shocked he made it to 18.

I guess, but it reminded me of when Capt. Ron Johnson said in the memorial or whatever that was on Sunday, "...my black son," and the audience started thunderously clapping and hollering. Would they have sat in silence or booed if he said, "...my bi-racial son?"

I realize when people perceive being under siege it is natural to overcompensate when a fellow traveler holds the same view or share a similar background. Not trying to offend, it just seemed a bit simplistic to get so much admiration and support.

BBM-

Not necessarily, some just don't post or quit thanking those they agree with due to the mob mentality. I have received a few pms of thanks from posters not thanking or posting, afraid to raise the ire of the group. Sometimes it is difficult to speak out when you feel you are treated like the fringe minority. I don't even know what to think, because Wilson has not even been charged. So, I don't feel like he needs to be defended against an overzealous pro-guilt crowd, which is weird for me, because I usually argue for the defense.

However, I feel like a few posters are making some valid points questioning the handling of this case and Ferguson Police Department's handling of it, specifically. Some other posters question critically anything that shines doubt on the LE but are credulous of anything that makes LE's version seem believable. For example, lawyer X discredits someone we don't like, when the poster has no idea who lawyer X. If you google, lawyer X you find out he is a shyster, has ethical charges, or may have a conflict of interest.

I think one should be skeptical of everything at this point.

These cases to often become arguments and sides seemed to be formed. Life is not binary, so why should investigations be?

Those sound like wise words. Are the mobs in Ferguson being skeptical of everything, or just anything including the words, "justifiable" and "LEO"?

There are always two sides to every story, and many times, the truth lies somewhere in between. I am still waiting to hear the LEOs account of what happened. While I'm pretty sure what happened, I wouldn't mind apologizing to everyone if I find I am wrong.

Seems a bit disingenous then not to thank my post.:)

The padded resume seems troubling, but I don't know much about websites like LinkedIn. The other criticisms may be valid as well, I am not familiar enough with best M.E. practices to discern competently.

However, this reminds me of when nurses and nurse practitioners were taking over duties that doctors used to perform. The AMA and doctors tried to discredit them for years until at some point they made the political decision to let it go. The medical profession is run like a guild, and any change in the pie will be characterized as dangerous or unprofessional by the status quo.

They may not have a bias in this specific case but they do have a monetary incentive to spread doubt on Parcell's work, because it cuts into their bottom line or in the case of Friedlander obscures his own misconduct.

Shawn Parcells, man of many invented credentials. A legend in his own mind.

Regarding Shawn Parcells, the "assistant" to the eminent Dr. Baden, who conducted the private family second autopsy of MB.

Decide for yourself how much weight to give to his "work" and his "professional opinions." I can't link ALL the professional blog comments about him lol! I might ask a mod if those sites can be linked, but there is enough on the authorized sites to keep one busy reading for a while. I understand why the Brown family attorneys contracted his business, but I'm baffled why anyone keeps giving this man a microphone to talk. (Oh. Wait. Maybe I'm not baffled at all, lol!) Incidentally, Shwan Parcells also has a ministry business, Shawn Parcells Ministries. (Can't link all the blogs there either.)

Apparently, there is a lot of $$ to be made in the "private autopsy" business. Average price is $3000 cash. Nice WSJ article on same. Lots of outsourcing from counties and municipalities to private companies-- largely unregulated. That seems to be a bit of a problem to me for criminal cases, or insurance cases, etc.

By transporting the body from the funeral home to the morgue in his black SUV and bringing along his own autopsy tools, he saves coroners both time and money.

Lol-- here is a RECENT article that refers to him as "Professor Shawn Parcells!" His sum total of "professor" experience was ONE DAY of shadowing. He has no degree higher than a bachelor's degree. (Lol-- not even university "faculty", contract or affiliate, would try that stunt! Talk about credential inflation, whoooweee!) But WAIT!! Now he's an "instrumental participant". Or is he a Professor? Which is it? Getting whiplash here from all the fake credentials flying around!

http://www.ksdk.com/story/news/local...aden/14233029/

Professor Shawn Parcells, an instrumental participant in the autopsy evaluation, said Brown could have survived five of the wounds, but one, which hit the apex of his head, went through is brain and was not survivable.
You know, sometimes one just has to stop looking. There is just too much out there about this man's invented credentials for me to give a single instant of respect to anything he has to say clinically. He needs desperately to STFU, IMO. Or the media need to get a REAL "google clue" about this man!

I agree that if MB, as evidence proves, assaulted Wilson, he should have been arrested for assault upon an officer of the law. I think, but am not sure, that THAT is a felony assault. But reportedly, by"Josie", Wilson had already called for back-up. If that is so, what was the big rush to arrest MB? If Wilson had waited a few minutes for back-up to arrive they could have arrested MB without any shots fired except the first. I don't see that it was critical to catch him right away..........since he was running away. We do not know if back-up was called for or if it was, at what point. JMO
It is his job as a police officer to go after him so he is not violent again to other people and no one else gets hurt.

Wow..

Ok I know I shouldn't complain but I wished it was a zoomed in closer to see what exact action occurred before first shot.

But wow..

You can make it bigger & closer....at least I could on my iPhone.

Respectfully, that is not all we know. IMO we know:

He had a tendency to lunge at people - saw it wiht our own eyes.

We know he has criminal thinking patterns.

We know from their attorney that there was a serious altercation around an officers vehicle.

We know from the autopopsy that the endless reports, for days, from allledged witnesses, wholeheariliy and enduingly reported that the officer was blasting the kid in the back wiht bullets. We know for a fact that is just not the case.

We know that the radio call, has more credibility (officer was being lunged by 300 lb angry human being) based solely on the autopsy , which just by assoication gives the rest of her account more credibility overall (ie lunged on video vs mauled in back with a barrage of gunfire) .

IN that context, which reports overall tend to be more beleivable
IMO

I don't know all the facts. No one does. same themes
So at this time all we can all do is , at this time, go with what thus far is out there and appears logical and in some alignment with hard core facts know thus far

I'm beginning to feel like this Prosecutor is going to use the GJ as kind of a mini-trial. He has knowledge of now all three autopsies, DNA and I believe toxicology as well. Not to mention video, witnesses to include unnamed witnesses as well. Most witnesses to support the officer are not going on record publicly, yet have gone on record with him.. The outcome of the GJ is of their recommendation and he can stand out of the way if he chooses.
