This statement is exactly what this is all about. Everyone's experience is different . Some have had family members and themselves suffer lifetimes of harassment by police. While others have family who are police and know them as good people and heroes even and they are scared for their lives every time they walk out the door to work.
How can we we bridge these contrasting differences... How can we feel compassion for both of these contrasting stories. Because they are both true..... And right now it is true, true as can be, that officer Wilson is respectable cop and wonderful person... And it is also true about MB the "friendly giant" we all heard about the first couple days ... Both of these stories are true to those close to these two different people. Why can't we just have compassion for both sides and wait for the truth to come out. If we have learned anything about this whole mess it is that people are willing to lie with conviction for what they believe in.
I say wait for the truth before you judge.
Of course and I agree with your sentiments. But it is very hard for me to sit back patiently and quietly, when I see the hordes of protestors calling for Officer wilson to be DEAD, and setting fire to stores and stealing and throwing molotov cocktails, and promising to keep on doing so until Wilson IS FOUND GUILTY.
