honeymooned in Springfield, MO with first husband (Don't ask, the story of how and why Springfield MO is really not worth explaining).

All I know about the town is that I believe John Goodman called it home before going into acting.

Springfield is the third largest city in the State of Missouri and the county seat of Greene County.[5] According to the 2010 census data, the population was 159,498, an increase of 5.2% since the 2000 census.[6] The Springfield Metropolitan Area, population 436,712, includes the counties of Christian, Dallas, Greene, Polk and Webster. Springfield's nickname is the Queen City of the Ozarks and is known as the Birthplace of Route 66 as well as the home of several universities including Missouri State University.

You know, I would really have to ask you why-you chose Springfield, MO!!

Thanks for the Springfield facts! :)

I'm curious if there are any criminal attorneys that can chime in, in regards to the obvious 'clerical error' on the search warrant inventory/receipt. I saw the error when it was first released by media, but so far haven't seen anyone mention or question it.

Do you mean the "returned to" box checked on SW#1?

I had it saved and handy, so no problem.

Thank you, Methodical.

I'm considerably more depressed than I was before I saw these maps. Just ate some random chocolate chips from the baking cupboard. Now I'm starting in on the Doritos.

I mean, really...

Clicking on some of those red balloons brings up child 🤬🤬🤬🤬 again and again. Surprise, surprise. There's one on 2202 E. Page, zipcode 65802, who's not even on this particular map. A WBW who just registered August of 2013. Child 🤬🤬🤬🤬 (from WI).

A belated Welcome to Websleuths luvs :)

Given that we were a very young couple with no money and a toddler child to support we married at the JP, had a potluck reception/celebration and hopped in the car with a week of childcare offered by grandparents. No destination and limited funds so we just drove and ended up in Springfield, MO.

The reason it was so funny (to me anyway) is that we were from Springfield, IL and road tripped a honeymoon that landed us in a town of the same name, one state over, very similar in size and makeup as our own town.

So no major adventure, no big sites seen, just drove for hours to spend the week in a town that for all intents and purposes could have been the very one we left.

I have followed the case in the news but not here at Websleuths much. I understand lots of disturbing child 🤬🤬🤬🤬 was found in a binder at his home. I have done a cursory look and could find not much online footprint of his. Wondering where he hooked up to talk with other Pedos and exchange 🤬🤬🤬🤬. There has to be somewhere. He cannot have indulged this vice without finding images somewhere to feed it KWIM?

So if anyone cares to spare me having to read back through all I have missed and let me know if any online profiles, pages, etc belonging to Wood have been found I sure would appreciate it!

Yes, exactly. I realize in 'most' cases this is trivial, but the magnitude of importance of this case has me 'edgy' every time the t's are not crossed and the i's are not dotted. I'm sure it's not 'case jeopardizing', but just wanted input from someone who's familiar with felony trial law to see if it's 'totally' insignificant or not.

I noticed that one of those had a "returned to" box checked and the other had a "received from" checked. Didn't know why the discrepancy, either.

It wouldn't have anything to do with the 2 different search warrants, would it--did they remove items from the first search to go get the second search warrant (and then return them to the scene)? The search warrant 1 docs have the "returned to" checked, and the search warrant docs 2 have the "received from" checked.

Also thought it was curious that they had a single bullet from room H on the list. At first I thought maybe it had been a through and through, as I knew they also had a casing. But when I looked, the casing was from the basement (room B). Hmm.

I know the feeling! (and pass me some Doritos)
I had zoomed in on the map to only show within about 1/2 mile radius of Hailey's house. But a far larger "cloud" of red RSO markers cover the entire Springfield metro area, outside of the 1/2 mile radius I showed. I chose to zoom in so individual streets were visible and labeled, which also makes it easier to see Haily's street/neighborhood, plus nearby areas.

You can go to Greene County Sheriff's webpage (link below) which has the zoomable map and RSO database.

Yes, that red 'cloud' is what's visible in the screenshot I took in my dropbox link of that Springfield area. Looks like if you want to live there you might consider living in the southern part of the city. *ETA: Actually, the one at the Greene Cty link is more complete; looks like even the southern part is fairly populated.

Our town (now a city) has over 130K residents in it. We have 24 RSOs in 2 zipcodes. There is one extremely old offense within a mile from our house, a cluster near Main St. in a much older part of the town, and a cluster in one other small area. I looked things up more than a decade ago when we first bought property here (with small children). Virtually no change; I'm feeling blessed.

It appears to be just a careless "slip" by the agent or officer that filled out the inventory sheet. It's clear that all items were taken from the home as evidence, therefore all 4 pages should have been marked "Received From".

That 1 bullet also had me puzzled, tho it's not uncommon to find a single live cartridge or shell casing (actually bullet signifies only the projectile portion of the cartridge or "round" of ammo), so it's unclear if he in fact found just a bullet (projectile) or if he used lax terminology and found actually one unspent (live) cartridge. The spent casing (which presumably killed Hailey) was listed separately in the list, in "Room B".

The underground black area of the internet is vast. A member of my family was thankfully caught and sentenced to 30 years. I practically shouted out with joy at the sentencing but unfortunately other family members refuse to believe he could do something like that.
They are so secretive and multipersonality. It took me weeks to read the trial transcripts because the chats were so sickening.
Sorry got a bit OT. Suffice it to say there are things you have no idea how to find on the internet yet these predators have a huge web. There are programs they use so they can exchange pics and video without being 'seen'.

Thank you so much for the "welcome." And thank you for sharing your honeymoon with me!! I loved it-and would much rather have a honeymoon just like you had, than an all too expensive honeymoon like most of my friends are taking!

As for Woods, it is so aggravating because he really hasn't left us any clues. I have been going over missing persons cases today, and sadly there are SO many-and any one of them he could be responsible for.

I am convinced that this wasn't his first abduction, his first murder maybe-but I would nearly bet my farm that he has done this many times before :(.

We have several members familiar with the underweb and I am hoping one of them will locate some info and share. I avoid those areas of the web. Some of our members are more savvy and feel more confident lurking close to those edges and they sometimes bring valuable info on our perps. That is not for the faint of heart and therefore, not for me for sure.

I am also fairly convince that this man did not suddenly begin acting on his compulsions. I wonder if he took any annual trips "away" like to certain countries where child sex abuse is more open and in your face. Or just regular out of town 3 day weekends where he travelled down the road a piece and indulged his sickness out of his own home area.

Does anyone know his (CMW's) younger sibling name?

I have a browser for the "underweb", what are y'all looking for? The browser is free for anyone to download.

Original Quote BBM.
If you take that address to Google Earth and go to street view, it looks like a Ford truck parked in the driveway. JMO but they should definitely check out that house and farm.

Good eye! I had noticed that also. But that "looks like a Ford truck" is actually THE truck. The image date is May, 2012. The screencap (below) is blurred a bit, but doing some angles on the original Google street view showed it is the same truck that CMW drove as i could 'juuuust' make out the ending 454 on the license tag.

Tho it would be labor/time intensive, I would think it might be a good idea to cover as much acreage on that farm property as possible, with an in-line array of ground penetrating radar units. This will show any graves, 'previously disturbed' soil, or underground diggings/objects.
