The Pelletier and Stanley threads have some great discussion and some of the other notable cases have come up fairly often. I keep seeing this one pop up so I thought it would be good to have a thread to discuss Isaiah Rider.

Of particular note, state lawmakers in Missouri are pushing for a law which would actually bar medical providers from reporting abuse in certain situations, which I personally think is extremely dangerous. It would put a doctor in a position where he has to evaluate the evidence himself, rather than reporting suspected abuse and letting CPS, the police, and the courts handle that aspect. The text of the law doesn't really make it clear what the repercussions would be if a doctor reported abuse under these conditions.
